Pure, unadulterated nostalgia!

"Combativo" is a refreshing change of pace from the over-produced action films of today. Its simple yet entertaining storytelling reminded me of the old Rambo films I used to watch with my grandfather. "Combativo" features the story of a one-man-army who goes to great lengths to rescue his love from the evil clutches of a criminal organisation. The action scenes are really well put together and as an avid fan of martial arts films I was quite impressed by the sheer amount of effort and choreography put into the hand-to-hand combat scenes. The scene where the ninja assassin's shuriken whizzed past our hero, just barely missing him, lives rent-free in my head, as well the scene where the apache helicopter gets blown to bits. Truly had me whooping and cheering!

Shahzel Syed has certainly upped the ante when it comes to Pakistani independent films and will certainly inspire upcoming filmmakers to put their talent on the big screen.

Great action thriller movie Combativo

I must say the lead actor ( syed shahzel) did a phenomenal job. He looked super fit and his acting and fighting skills were a treat to watch Action and fighting scenes were very captivating

Specially the combat with ninja and helicopter rocket launcher destruction scene was so enthralling

i must also appreciate the background music, especially during the action scenes and fights, it added great flavour to the action. The best part was the movie had no songs but only non stop fun and entertainment

Lots of praise for the star actor (syed shazel) who also happens to be the director, producer of combativo movie as well

So basically it is One man army and his efforts and hardwork is commendable

A rising Pakistani Sylvester Stallone "Rambo' in Combativo

I just came back from the cinema after watching "Combativo" the action movie Directed by Shazail Syed .

What a Movie ...,what an action ,what a thrill, The action scenes of "Combativo" are nonetheless Hollywood's action , the restless hard work ,and the restraind budget,movie has given the audience a new taste of action and a rising star Shazail Syed as "Action Hero" .He has all the qualities of an action Hero as his amazing skills of Martial Arts.

The vibe of Hero is like 'Sylvester Stallone 'John Rambo , one can say the Pakistani Rambo. Pakistani cinema should be proud of having such a brilliant action Hero.

The Direction of the Movie "Combativo" is needed to be seen as realistic as restraind budget. And if in low budget,the movie like "Combativo" can be created then i am sure there would be a great margin enhancing the quality of others thing. The compulsion of Director's creativity seemed entangled due to budget .

.To make a complex storyline easy for the audience is the great job of a director which is nicely done by Shazail Syed. Pakistani cinema should be proud of such a tallent who created such an action movie in limited resource and give the audience a new action hero. It is the real talent which today the audience have seen on the screens of Pakistan .

pakistani action

Strange little pakistani 'black tanktop' vanity project. This action-packed thrill ride is written-directed-starring-produced-financed-everything by the same man, shahzel syed, who plays a martial arts enthusiast who's finally going to rid pakistan of those rascally terrorists and their diabolical leader, rustam. These terrorists may not have beards and 7th century costumes, but they do have too-tight aliexpress suits and 3/4 scale plastic AKs (everyone knows it's impossible to find real firearms in pakistan).

Our protagonist is not alone in his struggle against the forces of terror and their various ninjas and HGH monsters; he has help from his love interest, a television newsreader who the movie implies is related to the protagonist's mother (that's all i'm going to say about that, umm, custom...). Will our black tanktop hero defeat the terrorists, save the girl, and get permission to film at a unesco site?

This movie was difficult to watch. Incredibly slow pacing. Incredibly slow dialog, to the extent that it seemed like the english ADR had to be slowed down to match the lips of the performers. After 45 minutes i got so fed up yelling 'faster! Talk faster!' at the screen that i decided to speed the video up to 1.3x original, and it honestly made the movie easier to watch. Most of the dialog sounded more natural at 1.3x speed. The action sequence at the end was greatly improved by the speed change. That's not a good sign... words of advice to shahzel syed: 1. Watch out for reflective surfaces when filming; we can see the camera. 2. using tiny toy guns is absurd. 3. use that tripod i saw in rustam's sunglasses more often - avoid handheld. 4. iodine does not look like blood. 5. SPEED IT UP!

First Unadulterated Action Movie From Pakistan

Just watched 'Combativo', the movie itself is amazing......the direction of those shots was second to none..........usually we expect to see a love story even in action movies that takes away the spotlight from the main part of the movie but 'Combativo' is nothing like that because the story entirely focuses on action.......... A single person producing and directing the movie while being the main hero is simply applaudable........Being a Pakistani i was surprised to see an action movie that too with no vulgarity in our cinema for the very first time. Hats off to the entire team of 'Combativo'.

New "Rambo" in town

Decided to watch "Combativo" this evening and was amazed by the movie an action flick that too coming from Pakistani cinema. Amazing and thrilling action with a strong plotline. The director and the actor have surely left their mark on Pakistani cinema. Definitely a must watch and family friendly. Watching it on the big screen truly captures you in the action and the hero's journey throughout the movie. The continuous hardwork put in making the movie is clearly seen and the Director's determination to put the movie on the big screen pays off.......... Again I'd applaud the whole team the cast the crew for accomplishing this big feat.

A rare pakistani true and good action movie

The movie was full action with great background music score and the gun shots was amazing. Ahmed Ali the main character seems like a true action hero. Overall a good experience to watch this movie. The build up of the movie from tge beginning is nice. The movie gains your attention from the very beginning. The sound quality added to the action experience. Was not expecting a helicopter in a pkistani movie. But there not only a gunship helicopter but the missiles and the way it was shot down was a hollywood level thought and well implemented. Overall its a very different combat based action cobtent that i have not seen before in Pakistan.

Overall a very good experience and surely a pleasure for action lovers.

Action Packed Masterclass

Brlliant story writing, editinf, and playing the lead role to inch perfection by Syed Shazil himself is a brilliant example of a one man army and breaking the cliches of our film industry that one truly does not need backing lf millions to create a project that inspires thousands of movie lovers.

Truly intense movie with well written dialogues, excellent action script and world class cinematics. This movie truly brings out the best of our local scenarios and highlights the white elephant of our society which is riddled with such mafia and how to fight against them.

Excellent movie with brilliant cinematography

It was unique experience for me because I thought that Pakistani producers can't make an action thriller. This movie though looks like a low budget movie but the cinematography and camera work is excellent. I think the producer and actors did an excellent job. It cannot be compared with international movies but keeping in mind that it is a Pakistani movie it is a commendable effort. I hope more movies like that are going to be produced in Pakistan. When I was there in cinema the hall was full and I hope this movie is going to be a hit. It is an action thriller and the hero has a nice physique and his on screen fighting skills are good.

Full of entertainment

Never seen action like from Pakistan

Love it Combativo ,No time waste. Just action and great fighting scenes. From the starting till end you cant move. Great action belongs to pakistan. Really appreciate to this action from pakistan.i am very happy to see as pakistani to watch this action movie Combativo , One man Army. Must see this action movie. Want to see more movies from pakistan Like that Geniune Actor one man army .Best wishes for actor director and all makers. Giving 8 star to appreciate new actors and directors , Not everyone is perfect .but even anyone try this action like Rambo movie tried from Pakistan never seen before.

A Pakistani Action masterpiece

As a fan of action movies, Combativo is a Pakistani action gem. Given the resources and struggle put in by the director, the movie came out great. Each and every action sequence was executed perfectly. The moves, the CGI and the stunts seemed so professional.

Surprisgly the director himself is a writer, and acted as the main character in the movie which gives him all the appreciation applause to come up with such a masterpiece.

Pakistanis should watch and support the local talent as it is very rare to find in our country.

All in all, the movie was great, every moment was worthy of enjoying. 10/10 would recommend.

Western Nostalgia

A great take on Western classic style action mixed with the desi aura of vintage pakistani movies of 80s and 90s this was a great film to watch. Felt the nostalgia as If I was watching the first rambo movie if it was made by a pakistani. The fighting sequences were great especially the one where the lead hero fights against the rogue ninja. The CGI was good considering the budget constraints. The cast and the director have proved that given the adequate resources and equipment they can deliver an even better project. Commendable job by Mr. Shahzel Syed and I look forward to their future projects.

Heart throbbing Action thriller

One man army excellent graphics and par excellence movie. The movie breaks established clichés of movies making in Pakistan. The action and thrill is highly inspirational. Beyond reproach the story line toes real time issues confronted by the country. This surely is a tribute to The resilience and courage of law enforcement agencies. Shehzel Syed the hero and most pivotal figure in the movie acts with such immense confidence that in itself is a feat of an extra ordinary actor for starters. The singleness of conception and execution to perfection is manifestation of true hard work and dedication.
