Filmed from April until June 2006.
Alexander Tuschinski asked his father Paul Tuschinski (a school teacher) to do the cinematography with the family video camera. For both of them, it was the first attempt to do a film.
The first workprint in mid 2006 ran 14 minutes. It included several intertitles and a voice over that ran almost throughout the entire film.
In the first workprint, the main character has a last name. There, the film started with a voice over: "My name is Joachim Clemens,..." In the final cut, only a brief, later passage of the opening voice over was retained.
