The beginning and end of this movie were already filmed when Jonathan Decker was brought on to direct, edit, and choreograph the fight scene. It was the start of a lasting friendship between Decker and star Charan Prabhakar.
This film was made for the talent show of a Latter-day Saint singles' congregation at Brigham Young University.
Charan Prabhakar and Jonathan Decker barely knew each other before this film. Charan recruited Jonathan to choreograph the fight scene and play the villain. They had such fun together making the film that they've been close friends ever since.
The mini-pamphlet Spencer shows DinoHand (when the latter is admiring a drawing of a female brontosaurus) is For the Strength of Youth, a Mormon publication advocating chastity to adolescence and young adults.
The fight scene was filmed in only two hours, as the cast and crew purchased two hour bounce passes and were too cheap to pay for more. While choreographed in advance, two hours is insanely fast to get all of the shots in a fight scene such as this.
