Álex de la Iglesia's "30 Coins" is one of the best horror shows of the past decade, one that packs 30 different horror movies into one show that begins with a cow giving birth to a human baby that turns into a spider monster in a small Spanish village. This is de la Iglesia's biggest and best work to date, a super ambitious, hyper-stylized, soaked-in-blood show that stares down at the biggest evils of humanity, at primordial fears, and spits them out covered in blood and guts.
Where season 1 felt a bit more episodic (at first), with different shenanigans plaguing the village building up to something big, season 2 has no time for that. The world is ending, and we have to move soon. In a more ambitious, more visually striking, more urgent season premiere, "30 Coins" expands its plot to encompass multiple locations across the globe (and on different planes of existence!

Straight out of the Chattanooga premiere, Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting’s throwback slasher We Might Hurt Each Other (formerly Pensive) arrives on our Screambox streaming platform tomorrow!
The bloody Lithuanian teen horror was directed by Jonas Trukanas and stars Gabija Bargailaite (Pilgrims) and calls back to slasher classics like Friday the 13th.
Inspired by local legends, Pensive follows a group of privileged high school classmates. After these classmates destroy a set of life-size wooden statues during a wild graduation party, a mysterious masked killer begins picking the group off one by one.
Gory and glorious, Pensive is a gritty throwback to the 80s and the heyday of slasher cinema. Calling back to Friday the 13th, the filmmakers took what was great about the era and give it a refreshing lift with the infusion of Eastern European folklore. Check out the trailer below.
Other July highlights include The Exorcist writer William Peter Blatty...

After premiering on Fandor last fall, the SXSW genre-bender Jethica is now streaming on the Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox!
Variety hailed Jethica as an “ingenious, deadpan horror-satire that asks, ‘Can you ghost a ghost?’”
Now that the movie has been available to stream for a few weeks, we’re sharing this hilarious Spoilery trailer that counts off how many times a character says “Jethica” in Jethica.
In this future cult classic, Jessica lives in fear of a man named Kevin who follows her everywhere she goes. While on a road trip in New Mexico, she reconnects with Elena—an old friend she hasn’t seen since high school—who has been hiding out at her deceased grandmother’s ranch. When Kevin mysteriously appears again, Jessica and Elena seek help from beyond the grave to get rid of him for good… but Kevin is different from other stalkers and won’t move on so easily.

The entire film community has finally caught onto Andrea Riseborough, an absurdly talented actor who shocked the world with her surprise “Best Actress” Oscar nomination.
Another fan favorite in the horror community is Rebecca Hall, who is easily one of the best actors on the planet. While she’s appeared in several high-profile films, including Godzilla vs. Kong, she recently toplined David Bruckner’s festival smash hit The Night House, which acted as a lead-in to his Hellraiser film, as well as the critically acclaimed Sundance horror-thriller Resurrection.
Before her ascension, Hall starred in Nick Murphy‘s chilling The Awakening, a 2011 indie haunter where she plays an expert on hoaxes.

The Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox streaming service continues to slay with Cinedigm acquiring all North American rights to the horror mockumentary When the Screaming Starts, about a journalist who tracks a newly formed murder cult founded by a bumbling wannabe serial killer. And we’re serving up an exclusive clip from the film this afternoon.
When the Screaming Starts will release exclusively on the Bloody Disgusting-powered horror platform Screambox on September 20, followed by a wider digital release later this fall.
Fangoria’s Editor-in-Chief Phil Nobile Jr. raved that When the Screaming Starts “does for serial killers what What We Do in the Shadows did for vampires.”
Directed by Conor Boru, When the Screaming Starts follows struggling journalist turned filmmaker Norman, who finds himself face to face with aspiring serial killer Aidan Mendle. When Norman is invited to follow Aidan on his journey, he thinks he’s finally landed his big break.

“Modern Family” wasted no time during its Wednesday episode for the long-awaited reveal of which character would die in the Halloween-themed episode of the 10th season.
Warning: Spoilers ahead
Within minutes, Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) gets a call from her stepfather to tell her that her mom DeDe has passed away. However, a fun Halloween night is just what Claire and Mitchell needs to distract herself from the sad news (in addition to drinking), while their spouses Phil (Ty Burrell) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) try their best to cheer them up.
The Dunphy kids also deal with the news in their own unique ways. Luke (Nolan Gould) makes jokes about his grandmother coming back as a zombie, Hayley (Sarah Hyland) gorges on Halloween candy to cope, and Alex (Ariel Winter) has a surprising, out-of-character reaction.
There were also plenty of laughs in the heartfelt episode, from the costumes, such as...
