Superb production design and writing made this one of the best shows of 2018
Holt34416 December 2018
The story is depressing, disgusting, sad, epic and much more, the writing is superb. Jahr Null is upon us and we get to see the Nazis executing their plans, the creators behind the show truly did something amazing, something that have never been done before. John Smith is the most well written character, the character development we have seen is one of the finest I've ever seen on television. I truly believe he will turn sides again sometime in the future, I find him one of the most good people on the show. I really liked Wyatt Price, an interesting character that was mysterious but ended up being the most loyal to the cause.

The overall season have been the best one yet, I've enjoyed it from start to finish. Taking a liking to even the so called bad guys of the show, many thanks to the superb writing. The extra year to finish season 3 was needed and made for one of the best TV Shows in 2018, with top notch drama and production design. I can't wait to see what they bring to season 4, they have built it up to be amazing.

A solid season 3 finale
dmdraper-7844026 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
John Smith's world is coming apart, with his family leaving him. Who will replace Himmler if he dies, or if he lives, what will his response to the assassination attempt be? Julianna has learned to travel, or maybe she always could. Ed and Robert will continue the legacy that Frank left. Wyatt has become a solid character. Overall, a really good season finale that will make season 4 one to watch.

Season 3 Review
IPyaarCinema7 February 2023
Great season! This one is packed with more action than the previous ones and anwers even more questions than season 2. Season 3 continues its breakneck pace of complex plots and characters as the stakes get higher. The immersion is breathtaking as the whole show actually transports you into a complete alternate universe where the Axis powers won the war.

As usual its the characters that carry the show. Juliana serves as the main protagonist. John Smith is the best of these, a complex man who is truly evil, yet somehow has that spark of redemption due to his devotion to his not so perfect family.

Season Three Review
southdavid18 December 2020
The second season of "The Man in The High Castle" was, for me, a big improvement over the first and fortunately this third season is a continuation of that level of scale and quality.

Juliana Crain (Alexa Davalos) heads back to the Neutral Zone to reconnect with her fellow freedom fighters, but soon finds herself back in San Francisco and in the hands of the Kempeitai. Under Himmler (Kenneth Tigar) the Nazi party embark on two new campaigns. They plan to reboot American by destroying historical landmarks and inspiring a new generation and, under Josef Mengele (John Hans Tester), they begin experimentation with invading the other universes. John Smith (Rufus Sewell) is viewed as even more of a hero since the sacrifice of his son, but opposition to his progress is growing and they are finding ammunition.

This was another enjoyable season. The story is good, production values are second to none and I'm glad it's focused more on Juliana and less on the Frank Frink and Joe Blake characters, both of their stories do seem to have run their natural course. The concept that the Nazi's understood where the film reels were coming from, and that they are experimenting on methods to break through the barriers between universes is somehow yet another step up in a story where the principles are already at the heart of world domination. But its how the plots fit together that make the show, how the little moments feed into the bigger ones.

Without having seen it yet, I do think that it's probably right that the show is coming to an end at the end of the next season - all that is left is for Juliana to inspire a rebellion against the Nazis, which is what I'd guess is going to happen.

The anomaly is this plot
dierregi30 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The premise of the show was depressing but clever, based on a brilliant short Sci-Fi novel those material was used up slowly but inevitably within the first two series.

Anything after season 2 is commercial exploitation, with the psychological issues of living in terror regimes described by Philip K. Dick replaced by hack script writers into a woke, action-driven series, inclusive of pseudo scientific machines allowing for travel through multiple universes.

Among the countless inconsistencies: in season 2 the killing of Dixon showed in a film actually happens and it changes the future. In this season, the killing of Juliana does not happen, so the film referring to it must belong to yet another universe, but how exactly do you know which events will have a positive influence on the future? The films are all fragments, therefore there is no way to know the outcome of the Dixon killing.

  • the "anomaly" in the cave, that everybody immediately understands is pure BS;
  • the Wyatt character is a plot device, I guess to replace the Joe character, which was way more interesting;
  • the gay subplots are pointless;
  • Helen leaving her husband is a stupid move;
  • thinking that the "people" will rebel against Japs and Nazi because they're shown what could be described in heir reality as SciFi is ludicrous at best ... and so on.

A poor end to a weak season
st_heinz21 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
After two fantastic seasons, the third season was quite a disappointment. At all levels: illogical, with a confused plot, uninteresting and boring. Hardly any act of a character is comprehensible. Even the deaths of two main characters didn't create tension. Except for Rufus Sewell, most of the actors' performances are also very poor.

The last episode tries to convince us with impressive pictures (but surprisingly bad effects): The destruction of the Statue of Liberty is not a really new SciFi idea ... The bad plot doesn't get any better as a result.

Season 3 is horrible
robocoastie-113 January 2019
Loved S1 & 2. S3 is near horrible. It's drug out and should have been arranged to end show. I almost don't look forward to S4
