The story of the Menéndez brothers, convicted in 1996 of murdering their parents José and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menéndez, will next be tackled by Ryan Murphy as part of his Netflix franchise “Monster.” Netflix and Murphy were set to confirm Monday that they are at work on “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story,” the follow-up to the hit limited series “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.”
Netflix had ordered two additional installments of the anthology series from Murphy and Ian Brennan; this would rep the first. Separately, Netflix revealed that it also has what it called “exclusive access” to Lyle and Erik Menéndez to participate in a documentary feature from Campfire Studios.

Netflix and Ryan Murphy have found their next Monster — or rather, a pair of them.
The second installment of the anthology series from Murphy and Ian Brennan will focus on Lyle and Erik Menendez, the brothers convicted of murdering their parents, José and Kitty, at their Beverly Hills home in 1989. The umbrella title of the series will get pluralized, with the season going by Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Netflix also says it has “exclusive access” to the brothers for a forthcoming documentary.
Following the runaway success of the first Monster, focused on serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, Netflix ordered two more installments and turned the series into an anthology that will tell “stories of other monstrous figures who have impacted society.” The first season currently stands as Netflix’s third most popular English-language series ever of its first 28 days of release.

Peacock’s upcoming true-crime docuseries on the infamous Menendez brothers includes a shocking allegation from a former Menudo boy band member against Jose Menendez, the father of the two boys convicted of murdering their parents.
The Menendez + Menudo: Boys Betrayed trailer, unveiled Tuesday, features Roy Rosselló claiming he was sexually assaulted as a teenager by Jose Menendez.
“It’s time for the world to know the truth,” Rosselló says in the trailer.
He adds of the elder Menendez, “I know what he did to me in his house.”
Their Menendez brothers’ trial became a national sensation as Americans closely followed the case and the brothers testified that the murders were mitigated by a lifetime of sexual abuse by their father. After a mistrial and deadlocked jury, the brothers were later retried and convicted in 1996 of two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to life without parole.

‘Catastrophe’ Repeats Land a Premiere Date on Lifetime, and Perhaps a Whole New Audience — Exclusive
“Catastrophe” might soon be seen by a much larger fanbase.
Reruns of the romantic comedy’s first two seasons are set to run on Lifetime starting Friday, June 9, at 10 p.m. Et. Lifetime will air four back-to-back episodes each week. That should help expose the show, created by and starring Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, to viewers that don’t regularly stream Amazon Prime series.
Amazon recently premiered the third season of “Catastrophe.” The show has been a critical darling since its premiere, but up until now has only been available in the United States to Amazon Prime members. That’s not a small audience, of course: Amazon hinted earlier this year that it has around 65 million Prime members. But only a fraction of that consumer base are believed to be regularly watching Amazon’s Prime Video offerings. (Obviously most members are sold on Prime’s shopping – and free shipping.
