Directing Slaughterhouse
Making a Low Budget Indie (2017)
*** (out of 4)
This 28-minute featurette has director Rick Roessler talking about his 1987 horror film SLAUGHTERHOUSE. The director really tells some very good stories throughout the running time as he gets into every aspect of what it took to make this low-budget movie. He really does take you from raising to the money to coming up with a cast and then he gets into releasing of the motion picture. All of that is covered as well as everything that happens in between. Roessler really comes across as a rather cool and interesting fellow and there's no doubt that he does a good job here going through what those two years were like as he was trying to make a movie and get it released. He hasn't made a movie sense so it's fascinating getting to hear from someone who tried it once and made a success out of it.
