One of the best seasons of a TV show I've seen in years
Dannyboi9422 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Daredevil season 3 has to be one of the most entertaining piece of TV I've seen in a long time, and it by a long shot the best season of any Marvel show. Throughout this season we have been treated to brilliant acting, directing and writing.

The season took right off from after the Defenders, and I loved the Dark Knight Rises type montage of him trying to regain his strengths. Charlie Cox gives his best performance this time around, as does many of the other actors.

The stand out is Fisk, and now called the Kingpin. Seeing him again was brilliant, and we finally get to see his criminal mastermind take place. This guy reminds me of the Joker from the Dark Knight. We all know he isn't strong enough to beat Daredevil in combat, so instead he shatters his image and breaks him internally. Genius. His screen presence is also perfect, and Vincent D'Onofrio gives an emmy worthy performance.

The new additions are also very good, with the FBI agent Nadeem being a great new character. But we all have to talk about Dex. Now one of my favourite TV shows of all time is DEXTER, and the character of Dex reminds me greatly Dexter, from the way he acts, to his inner demons eager to break free. Watching him become a respected agent into the legendary Bullseye was handled perfectly.

Season 3 has been amazing, and unlike most TV shows, this episode didn't have the typical slow, filler episode that feels out of place and nonsensical, like 'that' episode from Stranger Things. We had a Karen flashback, which was written very well and gave us a little insight to Karen's past, without feeling forced and pointless.

A New Napkin was one of the best episodes this season, and I hope we get to see more of our heroes and villains again. With the current cancellation of Luke Cage and Iron Fist, I hope see more of Daredevil, because this is clearly where the producers pour all of their good ideas.

Season Three - Well Worth the Wait
CulvertonSmith21 October 2018
After two and half years we finally have it, Daredevil Season Three. And it was worth the wait. This season wastes no time and keeps the plot moving at a consistent pace, continually raising the stakes to culminate in a fantastic finale.

All of the new characters work well, and our returners are as we knew them to be. Vincent D'Onofrio is absolutely incredible and every second he is on screen is incredibly investing. The places they take Wilson Fisk in this season are new while remaining true to the character.

It's hard to say for sure, but I believe this to be the best season of Daredevil. This season did not disappoint, the action is phenomenal, and better than most action movies these days. Can't wait for more.

Marvel's best villain
patrick-41323 October 2018
I know a lot of partisan kids will hate to hear this, but it's the truth: D'Onofrio's Kingpin is every bit the achievement the Ledger's Joker was. He's written better and more well-integrated into the story than ANY other Marvel antagonist to date, and D'Onofrio brings him to life powerfully, brilliantly, and unforgettably.

The final fight scene in this episode - the climax of the entire series - is a three-way action masterpiece that does what a fight scene should ALWAYS do (but somehow Marvel only manages in Daredevil): it uses the action to define, and even re-define, each character, managing to be fun and deep at the same time. This season of Daredevil is Marvel's best TV to date by a long shot, and this final episode was a masterpiece of superhero film.

Bullseye
Barry_Garrick1 November 2018
Well this season finale certainly hit the bullseye. Very few shows have such well written conclusions which complete realistic character arcs. Matt, Fisk, Dex, Foggy, and Karen, just to name a few, have all undergone excellent development this season. A finale that made me tense up one minute, get excited in the next and the final 5 minutes just left me with a constant grin on my face. Action, drama, emotion, tension, humour, were all crammed into this incredibly satisfying and enjoyable finale. The series could so easily stop on this high but I hope Daredevil returns soon because no comic book show comes close

This season was amazing. The build up to this grand finale was great. This was well written and the action was incredible. Daredevil is by far my favourite Tv show. Daredevil makes the CW shows such as arrow look bad. Daredevil is well directed and well written. It's great!

A Truly Epic Finale
MekkaMax21 October 2018
The last two finales of Iron Fist and Luke Cage have been extremely disappointing. But this finale and the rest of the season have brought my hopes back up. This season was spectacular with great performances, great villains and fight scenes that can rival the best TV shows can offer. The final battle is one of the best scenes of the show as we can finally see all the pieces come together in a bloody fashion. The ending also shows the amazing chemistry between Murdock, Nelson and Page who all gave their best in this season. The last season also sets up a possible season 4 which I can't wait for. Although the season had moments similar to The Dark Knight Rises and Batman Arkham Knight, the season made it its own by giving a really compelling story. Overall, this was a spectacular season and I can't wait to see what is next for Daredevil.

The Crowning Glory of an Outstanding series that was well worth the wait
ha77y73ad9719 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
What an ending to a series this was, you finally think that Matt has been beaten and that Fisk as got away with all his plans to finally be happy with Vanessa but that was never going to happy.

Where this picks up from the shock of Agent Nadeem's death and the small amount of aftermath causing Fogey to somehow get the recording from the episode before. Which falls on Deaf ears to Mat whos wants total revenge against Fisk. As for most of the episode this is again a character piece of Fisk and all hes doing to be with the woman he loves and would protect her against anything else.

Once the wedding is in full flow we get the climax that the whole series has been building too. During the Wedding Pointdexter gate crashes the reception as hes found that Fisk had killed Julie way back in episode 3 that finally tips him over the edge to take on and kill his so called mentor through out this series. Few bodyguards and guest are killing in true Bullseye fashion, impeccable accuracy and deadly force. Retreating up to the penthouse of the hotel is where the fight really heats up. The 2 battle it out, in trying to kill and protect Vanessa at the same time with Matt sweeping in to save her from some less placed shots that elude Fisks protection. Again this comes to a stunning fight scene where no one really gets the upper hand on any of the other guys that are fighting. Projectiles, fists and feet are flying during this but the turning point of this is when Fisk finally gets up close to end Pointdexters range shots, this resulting in a brutal back break against one of the penthouse walls. And in this moment Matt see's his chance to end this with Fisk bleeding and totally spent from this fight the true feelings of Matt Murdock are shown where the beatings keep coming along with the screams of Vanessa in the background not touching the true intentions of Matt cant be phased. With one blood curdling roar from Matt the beatings end. Possibly some of the best lines are to follow this making sure that Fisk knows where he standing and why he'll never change or beat Matt into killing him and turning him into a martyr.

As this all folds into the ending that Fisk is taking back to prison for the murder of Nadeem and all the other countless murders that hes racked up over the series. Foggey drops out of the race for district attorney and endorsing the other guy, cant remember much about that character. Matt, Foggey and Karen where for much of the series separate but this final scene of them joining forces again as Nelson, Murrdock and Paige turly brings the series to a close on this arc of their 4 series that they have been together (3 series of Daredevil/ Defenders and Punisher)

The final scene of the episode automatically should have been a post credit scene to tease the long awaited arrival of the true Bullseye with a medical team working on Pointdexter to save his body after the brutal put down. We hear about what the procedure in tails and if my lure is incorrect this is when Pointdexters body is infused with a rare metal Adamantium and by the doctor that would then produce one of Marvel most beloved anti-heros Wepon X.

If this were to ever link into the new X-Men films after the Fox merger we'll never know but still a great insight to where the series could go and a awesome little easter egg in the final shot. At least it wasnt burnt onto his head!!!

S3: Solid and engaging, with good action and supporting cast, even if it doesn't spark consistently
bob the moo9 March 2019
As I finished this season I leant that it had joined the list of Netflix Marvel shows that had been cancelled; the others I had not really bothered with, but this one I felt was a bit of a shame as it has been consistently good. Although I did not know anything about the events immediately before this season, it doesn't seem to matter too much since it is obvious where it leaves Matt, and the plot seems stripped back down to have less big picture and be more tightly focused. It brings back the strongest character from the first season, and introduces a new villain with a great development arc.

At no point does it become great art, or have brilliant characters, but it gives enough meat to build on and to produce a solid dramatic narrative. It flows along pretty well, forcing some cliffhangers, engineering some plot twists and turns, but mostly making the story flow and drawing in supporting characters that all add something. The cast deliver well throughout, with some of those I found weaker previously giving better performances with improved characters. Some chew scenery, but that is fun too. It is the action that sells the show though, and it does this through grit and determination. The terrific prison sequence is the standout of course, but there is plenty of dramatic action and fight sequences that are what put the show on the map originally.

The third season goes out well; it has a solid narrative, good performances, engaging delivery, and impressive action. It isn't high-art and mostly doesn't get too deep (although there are exceptions - most obviously Bullseye's origin story), but it lifts itself above the genre and continues to show why it is considered the high watermark for the Marvel/Netflix shows.

Expected Ending from Our No. 1 Catholic Boy
rayhanrajendra-9917030 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This season overall has been the best in terms of the storyline, twists, etc. But my main problem is his Catholic belief and moral of not killing anyone in action that furthermore could possibly resurrects the true devil in this show a.k.a. Fisk.

In the beginning of the season we see that Matt has a problem with keeping his belief and therefore kind of impacted his moral of no killing policy, and I thought they were gonna continue with it until the finale. But then few episodes prior to the finale they made Foggy confront Matt about a bs moral. Now I do not support killing, since it's obviously illegal, BUT all of us know about Fisk's power while he's in prison. He really made FBI bows down to him while still being in prison and there's a chance that he's going to continue to do so in the upcoming season. The biggest problem is Matt, as a lawyer, should've seen the BIGGER EFFECT of letting Fisk live. Fisk took countless innocent lives, and as a person whose purpose is to safe lives by bringing down the bad guy, Matt/ DD should've realized that Fisk still has a high chance of committing another soul taking lives while rotting in prison. Therefore, the decision of Matt/ DD letting Fisk live is just dumb and expected.

Limited characters' drama quality, mainly due to poor screenwriting
fernando-e-parodi29 October 2018
We have to split the critic in two, an do this valid for the whole show. 1-Visually, all seasons are beautifully crafted, in lighting, visual dynamics and continuity, just to name some examples. 2-But that is sadly ruined many times by the poor structure of the characters' scripts, clearly demonstrated on many gaps of action, specially fallen in pieces when you see the absolutely boring character of Wilson Fisk, with a Vincent D'Onofrio trying to put drama with almost zero acting quality; all that getting worst as you see the same villain actions repeated trough all seasons. So, you have the main villain acting with very poor drama's performer tools, creating with this a big trouble for the show, representing a childish story, with almost none attraction. The small drama added by the agent Dex is not enough to compensate that boring script.

Satisfying Ending
OnlyTheFinest25 May 2020
Before watching Daredevil I knew that it hadn't been renewed for a 4th season and I was worried that the ending would somehow feel, or be incomplete. But after bingeing all three seasons I'm glad to say that it has a satisfying ending. From the beginning to end the show never failed to capture my attention and it always had me hooked, from great fight scenes to fantastic acting. I'm sad that it ended so soon but I'm glad that it never lasted long enough to become like the 8th season of GOT.

Entertaining Allegory of contemporary America
kinkajou-3059323 October 2018
IMHO this was the best season of any of the superhero series ever on TV. Daredevil had the edgey darkness of Batman at his best and Kingpin maybe the mist nuansed of any villain I've seen to date. This last season ending episode did not disappoint in any way. Marvel and Netflix were both at the top of their game.

Masterpiece
dcolyer5 November 2018
This season 3 finale was a masterpiece finale to a masterpiece of a season to the best superhero TV drama ever, and among the greatest of TV shows in my lifetime (5 decades). The production, the directing, the writing, the acting, the score, the cinematography, all of it, just done so well and seamlessly meshed together to form a masterpiece. It was as good or better than anything I have seen on TV or in the theater. Yes, it was that good. This is a piece of work that everyone involved should be proud of for many years to come. We will look back at this decades from now and we will still be talking about how great it was. I did not think it was possible to better seasons 1 and 2, but season 3 takes the prize without doubt. Incredible performances and writing. Just amazing. Bravo!

It all leads to this, and it didn't disappoint
atreestump19 October 2018
The final showdown was worth the wait and the wait itself was a wonderful ride. Each actor/actress brought their A game when this was being filme. Their level of passion in some of the lines that eere delivered were like nothing we've seen before. The twist with the Dex in the van caught me off guard and let's you know things have gone far south.

Has slowly became the best show on television
MrPositive129 January 2019
I watch about 30 different tv shows religiously and though Daredevil at first would have sat around 10th best for me, it is now number 1. Yes, you read that right. The best show on television right now. Pretty amazing I'm saying that about a comic book tv show, but the drama, action, suspense, character development, chemistry...it's all simply perfection. Can't wait for more.

Worth waiting
matiasbockerman21 October 2018
Great season. Characters was great, Poindexter were definately the best new Character. Fisk and hes plots with grear acting was also super. This season was Karen's best performance, what An great actor. In the beginning Matt Murdoc seems to bit hollow, compared to second season, but he gets better episode by episode. This was touching, exciting mindblowing experience. I think second season is best so far, but that does not mean this season was bad in any way. Daredevil series keeps quality in absolute top. Hopefully Daredevil gets emmy nominations, it deserves it without a doubt. This is my personal top 10 tv series list and this final episode is one of the best episodes in whole series.

fitzwolf-6578225 October 2018
This episode feels too rushed and doesn't make much sense. I was hoping to get a different ending (less predictable and anticlimactic), but they give us more of the same thing. However, it's a pretty watchable show, and it entertained me for the most part.

Mr. and Mrs. Fisk
lucanreyn-4017721 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Not quite the bang I was hoping for but it's still a great end to the season. My only problem is that it's a very 'Marvel' type ending, in how the villain is defeated and the heroes have a happy ending, but have more trouble to come with a predictable ending that reveals a new villain for next season...and also, I'm disappointed Fisk didn't die. I thought that was what the whole season was setting up, because of Matt's whole separation from faith. I really thought Matt would kill him, but he's just done the same as he did in season 1. I'm sure all the corruption won't happen again because of his love for Vanessa, but man I'll admit I'm disappointed he wasn't killed.

Anyway, as you can see from the rating, I still really enjoyed this episode. Dex finally learning that Fisk has been abusing his emotions and manipulating him was a highlight for me, as well as the the brutal fight scene at the wedding. Other things I loved about this episode was how it gave Father Lantom the send-off he deserved, and the moment the title of the episode refers to: when they decide to start the law firm again, but with Karen as one of their attorneys.

If you compared the dark and depressing premiere to this feel-good finale, you would think it was two completely different shows, but it was still very enjoyable.

Season 3 episodes ranked: 1. Blindsided (episode 4) 2. The Perfect Game (episode 5) 3. Karen (episode 10) 4. The Devil you Know (episode 6) 5. Resurrection (episode 1) 6. Upstairs/Downstairs (episode 8) 7. A New Napkin (episode 13) 8. One Last Shot (episode 12) 9. Please (episode 2) 10. Revelations (episode 9) 11. Reunion (episode 11) 12. No Good Deed (episode 3) 13. Aftermath (episode 7)

Season 3 Rating: 8.3

The Man Without Fear
tylergilroy28 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
What can I say about this season other than wow. From start to finish this season was by far the best thing I have ever watched in my entire life. From the acting and writing to the directing and shooting, season 3 of Daredevil was an absolute masterpiece. Throughout the season Matt battles himself about whether he wants to go back to his old life as Matt Murdock and let his friends back in or if he wants to let the devil out and leave Matt Murdock behind. He also battles with the idea of how far he would have to go to stop Wilson Fisk. This was a perfect direction for his character and a great story arc for him to go through throughout the season. Vincent D'Onofrio has once again proven that Wilson's Fisk is the best villain the Marvel Universe has to offer. His performance is unforgettable, he is both interesting and terrifying every time he is on screen. The side characters this season all go through their own important journeys that all come together in the end. Original characters such as Foogy and Karen as well as new characters, Maggie and Ray Nadeem all go through a lot this season and give amazing performances. Daredevil has always had the best, and most memorable fight scenes and this continues this season with episodes 4,6,10, and 13 having some of the best fight scenes in the entire series. They are perfectly choreographed and acted and those things blend together to form something that makes it impossible to look away while watching this show. What Matt says at father Lantom's funeral was one of my favorite things about the season, he said that Lantom told him to be a "man without fear" and as a fan of the comics, this was an amazing moment. This season is easily my favorite season of any show I've ever watched. It is a perfect comic book adaptation and I can say with 100% certainty that it was worth the 2 and 1/2 year wait for this season.
