A Clean Slate

Warning: Spoilers
Bob (David Pridemore) is recently released from prison. He manages to locate his brother Ryan looking for a job in Lincoln, Rhode Island. After a discussion they decide to travel to a cabin in New Hampshire for employment. The cabin is unoccupied. Bob decides to squat and Ryan reluctantly goes along. A married couple comes up to their nearby cabin and they get acquainted. Sean (Sean Carmichael) and Ro (Rosanna Jimenez) would prefer not to have the rude drunks around as Bob is David Hess creepy.

This is a good film for a niche genre. It is light on the bad elements. Most will not like it.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Not your typical thriller
Carlynefournier18 May 2023
Love this movie ! I was expecting a typical thriller / horror film, but instead got some character development through out the story. Don't get me wrong, you will get creeped out but you will find yourselves uneasy several times throughout, trying to guess Pridemore 's next move.

Michael A. LoCicero and David S. Pridemore are GREAT actors and bring each individual character to light in a steady escalation. Bravo!

LoCicero ( writer, director, producer and actor) proves that even a low budget feature film can be executed quite well.

All shot in New England, and with local actors, this little gem of a movie, is a pretty cool and gets my thumbs up!

Nicely done!

WOW! Great movie!

Storyline reminds me of my hometown in West Virginia, family always gets you into trouble. Haha......The movie has great suspense and drama. I've had this movie in my wishlist for weeks and finally had a free evening to watch. It didn't disappoint and it kept me on the edge all through it, love the storyline. The whole cast in the movie was great and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for actor David S Pridemore. His character of a bad guy he plays spot on, I've always followed his film career....... Hope to see all the actors do well in their career. Fantastic job! I recommend this movie!

Deserves a Better Rating

This is an entertaining thriller with a competently-written screenplay and some very good character development. David Pridemore gives a frighteningly realistic performance as the impulsive and dangerous psychopath.

The entire cast of previously unknown actors and actresses especially Sean Carmichael and Rosanna Jimenez performed very well, and were perfect for their roles.

This movie proves you don't need a big budget to create a good crime thriller, what is needed is a well-written story and a capable director to bring it to life.

The movie can be watched for free on YouTube, I recommend that people give it a try.

Almost

An actor named David Pridemore is perfectly menacing as an excon who steals a minivan and picks up his brother on his way to a cabin in the woods in Rhode Island. They beome squatters in the cabin and meet a married couple vacationing nearby.

The brothers are not very nice and some encounters lead to some violent and bloody results.

The script is sometimes funny in a Quentin Tarantino kind of style as the sibling rivalry becomes fodder for some very amusing exchanges between the two.

I was entertained most of the way but the finale was completely unrealistic and The Killers Next Door could have been a contender with a better ending.

Straw Dogs meets True West
SideShawBob8819 January 2023
A gripping thriller that's reminiscent of Sam Peckinpah's "Straw Dogs" and Sam Shepard's brothers in "True West".

David Pridemore makes an excellent "love to hate" villain and Michael Locicero as the more morally ambiguous brother trying to escape the gravitational pull of his maniac sibling adds a nice unexpected twist to what could have been two dimensional characters.

Rosanna Jimenez and Sean Carmichael play the besieged targets of the killers well. By the end, you're rooting for them to end the craziness and create some needed justice in those woods in New Hampshire.

Overall, some good performances and solid cinematography make this a fun watch with some suspense and even some unexpected laughs along the way.

If you like suspense this is the movie for you!

Warning: Spoilers
The acting is excellent and the movie really has subtle notes and elements it builds upon. It's a true suspenseful film where you get a gut feeling in your stomach that something bad might happen and your glued to the screen to see how it unfolds.

I think for me the thing I like about it the most is how realistic it feels. The action is not fake, people are not taking 100 punches to the face and there fine. It has a very very raw and real feeling throughout the film. It shows a glimpse of what happens when several peoples paths collide as they do in regular life. In some ways I would relate it more to the movie crash where you get to see many diverse characters stumble upon each others life and see the impact.

The Killers Next Door is worth the rent!
trobison-180818 February 2023
This is worth the rent! A must-see! And David Pridemore is excellent as the unhinged villain, hopelessly anchored to his brother, played beautifully by Michael LoCicero! Rosanna Jimenez and Sean Carmichael wonderfully portray the troubled but heroic couple. Michael LoCicero did a wonderful job writing the story, as well as acting and directing. You'll really hurt for him as he tries to stop the madness.

The scenes are perfectly filmed - color, lighting, scenery. Every character is multifaceted. Each one has their unique likeability and their own demons. I became fond of the villains and started loathing the victims.
