Artistic integrity at its best with a perfect combination and imagination between the music from R.E.M. and the images by Robert Longo. "The One I Love" is pure poetry in motion with its mixture of apparently random images (the intersection between the man shouting's face and the female model's face compose a haunting and memorable moment during the song shouting part - "FIRE!"); the children running and some shots from Michael Stipe and the band. Just as mysterious as the song is whether being a dedication of love or just another prop to occupy one's time. This one is really a music of theirs of which I love dearly. One of their greatest tracks from Document. 9/10
