An excellent opening episode

The special relationship between Britain and America is put to the test when Ryan Reed, aid to U.S. Ambassador Kraft is shot dead and placed in a park. A terrorist attack is suspected, but conditions are made tough by the FBI and British authorities. Nikki gets the hots for Matt Garcia, boss of the Embassy. Meanwhile Gus, a somewhat troubled man has been hanging around the U.S. embassy and it's staff.

A truly exciting and dramatic start, it certainly set the tone for the rest of the episode. An embassy story was done a few years ago with a death at the Dutch embassy, this time the U.S. base is used, very topical in the wake of recent news, Trump refusing to open the new building.

The episode felt big, a big story, grand venues, lots of characters, superb production values, this was obviously a costly production, great music too.

Nikki is once again wearing her great granny's clothes, nice to see her a little happier, Michael Landes seemed to put a smile on her face. Thomas's domestic problems continue, but at least he's getting more screen time.

Can't wait for Part two.

An assistant to a U.S. ambassador is brutally murdered on a street and posed on a park bench. Soon after that a woman who is an expert on Africa is killed. The people at the Lyell are allowed to be part of the investigation. Meanwhile, our attention is drawn to a guy who is probably bipolar, his head filled with hallucinations and harsh memories. Nikki gets involved with a high ranking member of the ambassador's staff. But for some reason he has become a target. There is an intense final scene. This is quite riveting
