The start was promising, but then.. something happened. It fell to the typical cliche gay love story plots, which by now we should be over with. The boyfriend having secret family, a wife and kids, well well well.. didn't surprise me. And other things: why was Isaac (and his sister and moms) childhood traumas never really talked? All seemed to be over as soon as they killed the father which was really weird resolving to the whole issue and never talked over.
And then killing gay character and not giving him a happy ending? I didn't understand why we couldn't give them a happy ending.. Maybe not as a couple, but individuals. Mark (or Pat) didn't have to die, no matter what he did, he or Pat deserved it, or the child. Isaac's weird confrontation was so out of hand, why did he have the need to confront Mark when they were clearly not his issues? And he could have just visited them, you know, and not chase by cars which never ends well.
The movie had a lot of potential, for sure, but thinking it's 2019 I still don't understand why they make movies where kill gays and give them not so happy endings, even if Isaac finally moved on.
