Quotes

Dick Grayson : Hey. You want a pizza?
Rachel Roth : Okay.
Dick Grayson : [about to leave] Anything on it? Don't let anyone in. Is that Game of Thrones? Should you be watching that?
Rachel Roth : Just don't get pineapple on it.
Dick Grayson : Obviously.
-
Dick Grayson : According to those files, the man who came after you may have been part of some doomsday cult. They apparently believe it's their destiny to prevent the end of the world. Does that mean anything to you?
Rachel Roth : Well, back when I was a kid, you didn't get too angry, or too scared. 'Cause bad things happen.
Dick Grayson : What kind of bad things?
Rachel Roth : I guess I'm an orphan, too, now. That billionaire, Bruce Wayne, he raised you?
Dick Grayson : Yeah.
Rachel Roth : Must've been cool.
Dick Grayson : It was complicated.
Rachel Roth : Does it ever go away?
Dick Grayson : What?
Rachel Roth : The feeling you got left behind.
Dick Grayson : Yeah. Well, no, not entirely.
Rachel Roth : You're gonna leave me, too, aren't you?
Dick Grayson : No. No, I'm not gonna do that.
-
Dick Grayson : Can we talk?
Dawn Granger : You're about four years too late, but sure.
-
Dawn Granger : She killed someone? She's just a kid.
Dick Grayson : Whoever they are, they've got people in the department. We needed somewhere safe to regroup, think about what I'm gonna do.
Dawn Granger : What about Bruce?
Dick Grayson : He's no good with kids.
-
Rachel Roth : My mom didn't like me to drink coffee.
Dick Grayson : [she pours sugar into her mug] Sweet tooth, huh?
-
Rachel Roth : So, you and Dawn.
Dick Grayson : No.
Rachel Roth : You realize it's impossible to lie to me, right?
Dick Grayson : When we were kids. Good night.
Rachel Roth : Why did you hurt her?
Dick Grayson : I didn't mean to.
Rachel Roth : That's not an excuse.
Dick Grayson : Yeah, well, it's all in the past.
Rachel Roth : Not for her.
-
Dawn Granger : It's a big responsibility.
Dick Grayson : What?
Dawn Granger : Taking her in. I mean, I know how healing it must be, doing what Bruce did for you when you lost your parents. But taking care of a kid is complicated, you know that better than anyone.
Dick Grayson : I'm not taking her in. I'm not good at the staying with people part. I don't have to tell you that. Look, I know things are tight around here, so I thought Alfred could give me some money, maybe help out a bit, help out Rachel at the same time. Two birds with one stone. Well, three, I guess.
Dawn Granger : Wait, you want to leave her here?
Dick Grayson : Just for a while, just until...
Dawn Granger : Until when?
Dick Grayson : You don't understand, Dawn. I'm no good at family. I can't... you don't know what I've become.
Dawn Granger : What are you talking about?
Dick Grayson : [his computer beeps] Dawn, do not hit this delivery. Look at the number of security contractors.
Dawn Granger : Hey, don't change the subject. What do you mean "what you've become"?
-
Hank Hall : What the hell are you doing here, Dick?
Dawn Granger : Hank.
Dick Grayson : I had a situation.
Hank Hall : Nice little reunion you got going here.
Dick Grayson : You know it's not like that.
Hank Hall : Sure looks like it to me.
Dawn Granger : Hank.
Hank Hall : [from her gesture, he turns and sees Rachel] What the fuck?
-
Dawn Granger : Cop, huh? That's one I never would've figured.
Dick Grayson : How are you?
Dawn Granger : We're great. Hank's feeling the life a little. Age waits for no man and all that.
Dick Grayson : How bad?
Dawn Granger : Two fractures, three concussions in the last year, and a herniated disc.
Dick Grayson : Jesus, Dawn.
Dawn Granger : We're still good out there, Dick. Really good. Not one slip-up.
Dick Grayson : You should quit. You both should.
Dawn Granger : That's the plan. Soon as we take out these gun suppliers he's obsessed with. One more chance to do some good and he promised he's out. You could help us out.
Dick Grayson : I'm out of the life, Dawn.
-
Dick Grayson : You want a hot chocolate or something?
Rachel Roth : Just coffee. Black.
Dick Grayson : I bet they have marshmallows.
Rachel Roth : I'm not a kid, okay?
-
Amy Rohrbach : Try answering your phone once in a decade. Where the hell are you?
Dick Grayson : Working a case.
Amy Rohrbach : Remember that girl that threw the brick at the cop car? She's in the wind. Yeah, a uniform checked her out last night. Then we find him dead in some abandoned building.
Dick Grayson : The uniform, who is he?
Amy Rohrbach : Not ours. ID, badge, all fake.
Dick Grayson : Could you forward me everything you got so far?
Amy Rohrbach : Yeah, doing it now.
-
Dick Grayson : What'd you do with Rachel? You know, the sullen one?
Dawn Granger : I didn't do anything with her. I just didn't treat her like a kid. She's a good girl.
-
Dick Grayson : Rachel, has anything like... like what happened ever happened before?
Rachel Roth : No. Not like that. I didn't mean to kill that guy.
Dick Grayson : How did you kill that guy?
[without answering, she stares at her reflection in a metal napkin holder]
Dick Grayson : We're gonna go see some old friends of mine. They're safe. They'll give us a place to lie low for a second, get our heads together, figure out what to do next. You're scared, I get it. But sometimes, there's no time to be scared. Hey. No one's gonna get you. Okay? I promise.
Rachel Roth : Where else am I going, anyway?
-
Dawn Granger : We gotta go. Hank and I have that thing.
Dick Grayson : Dawn, I really think you should reconsider. Okay? We both know it's too dangerous.
Dawn Granger : You win some, you lose some.
[leaning down to Rachel]
Dawn Granger : Take care of him, okay? He needs all the help he can get.
Rachel Roth : Okay.
[Dawn leaves]
Rachel Roth : She needs your help. I can feel it. Isn't that what you do?
Dick Grayson : What?
Rachel Roth : You help people.
Dick Grayson : I used to think so. I used to think it was one of the things that I was best at. Until I realized the more help some needed, the worse I had to hurt the others. Do you understand?
Rachel Roth : Sometimes, when I feel the darkness come out... it feels good.
Dick Grayson : I understand.
Rachel Roth : You want to help them. You're just scared. Sometimes, there's just no time to be scared.
-
Hank Hall : Well, isn't this cozy?
Dawn Granger : [taking her hand off Dick's arm] Hey.
Hank Hall : Just like the old days.
Dick Grayson : We were just talking things through, okay?
Hank Hall : Come and go, take what you want.
Dawn Granger : Hank.
Hank Hall : Don't touch me.
[getting to his feet, Dick tries to hold him back]
Rachel Roth : Stop.
Hank Hall : You want to touch my girl now?
Rachel Roth : [Dick pushes him up against a wall] Stop!
[the darkness inside of her bursts out]
Rachel Roth : STOP!
[calming down, she leaves]
Rachel Roth : I'm sorry.
Hank Hall : Jesus.
-
Dick Grayson : What's wrong?
Rachel Roth : [taking out the envelope he planned to give Dawn and Hank] You were gonna leave me here. You said you weren't, but you lied. You must lie a lot. You're good at it.
Hank Hall : What's she talking about?
Dick Grayson : [Rachel gives him the envelope] Hank, don't read that. I...
Hank Hall : It's got my name on it.
[taking the contents out]
Hank Hall : What the fuck? You were gonna leave her here? You were gonna pay us?
Dick Grayson : It's not that simple.
Hank Hall : "I know you guys can watch out for her." Seems pretty simple to me. You were gonna buy us?
Dawn Granger : Hank, slow down. He's just trying to help.
Hank Hall : Wait, did you know about this? You saw what he did.
Dawn Granger : That's enough.
Hank Hall : He's a fucking psychopath.
Dick Grayson : [as they continue to argue, he goes over to Rachel] Hey, Rachel, I was gonna come back for you.
Rachel Roth : [touching his hand and getting a telekinetic feeling] Liar. You were never coming back for me.
Nuclear Mom : [appearing with the rest of her family] Well, hello there, you four.
Hank Hall : Who the fuck are these guys?
