Here we have Finn create a joke in a magazine called "Ble". He shows it to other people who don't find it funny. He then decides to go with the Ice King to the actual place that the magazine is published. Turns out everyone there is dead, so he and the penguins just create a new issue. I couldn't help but think this was a reference to Highlights magazine. They had this thing where people could submit jokes to be featured in their issues.
I used to read that all the time when I was little. This episode also works great as a satire of comedy in general. I don't consider "Adventure Time" to be a comedy series, although it certainly has comedic moments. It does make you wonder about what other people think about your jokes. Anyone can come up with a joke. You just have to remember how to sell it to other people. ****
