In this sadly second to last episode emotions run high as election day arrives. Members of the Flint PD who have worked so hard under Chief Tim Johnson go about their work day while stressing about the millage issue and whether or not they will have to look for another source of income or not. it is during times of uncertainty that everyone is tempted to entertain their worst fears. We get to see a bit more of officer Dion Sanders & family. Police volunteers qualify at the pistol range ran by Sgt. Frost, some do better than others. Additional thoughts by citizens on the millage issue are shown. Some feel that not enough is happening or improving enough to renew the tax while others are more positive. Officers and firemen are called to a large apartment fire. As was noticed by another reviewer this show is not as objectively balanced when it comes to politics as it could have been and it does show. However people feel about politics it is necessary to keep an open mind in order to understand the larger situation. No one in town seems to know this better than Officer Brian Willingham who gives what I would call the best oratory on keeping things in perspective that I have possibly ever heard from a member of law enforcement in my lifetime. I think if everyone shared some part of his mentality there would be much improvement between police & community. Prior to election night the police Captain makes a humorous traffic stop which goes to illustrate some of the anti police sentiments within the community & we see another house get raided. Some long time police veterans discuss prior lay offs and it is disturbing to learn that there exist so few resources for folks who work and have children to help them out during lean times. Finally, election night arrives to mixed reactions & results. As with all things in life there is the struggle between the ideal and the reality & some manage this balance better than others. A very decent installment to an all too short season.
