Fantastic!!

Outta nowhere!! Caught this gem whilst scrolling through YouTube and cannot say enough. A seven episode short (15 min or less) series, put together by some ones that have a total grasp and understanding of everything great about sci-fi. Acting, script, effects all top notch and put many big productions to shame. Wife and I and finishing up episode 7 and at the edge of our seats. This is the way science fiction was meant to be. Whoever produced this masterpiece, stand proud! Excellent!!!

Brilliant except for some pathetic acting

Someone on 9gag mentioned this and it didn't take long to watch the 9 episodes series. With hardly 10 minutes per episode, it was an easy watch.

The entire set up and VFX were outstanding including the storyline. Apart from the last episode which was average, I loved this thorough. But the actors though put their entire 'talent' into the show, were really bad.

Good production marred by spotty acting

The creators should have gotten better actors and script editors to match the very good production, filming, and CGI. In particular, the lead actor is often wooden and speaks his lines with little emotion.

Found this as others did flicking through utube. And I got to say for a movie short split into 7 ten minute episodes it's brilliant, shot and acted like a major budget movie. Special effects are on point and so is the acting and story. Sci-fi fans watch it you'll love it!

Outstanding.. A must for Sci Fi Fans

I love Sci-fi and have been watching the odd DUST short for years, some good, some not so good but this was outstanding. I thought I would try the first episode but watched them all one after the other, I was hooked right away.

Production value, CGI, story, acting, all top notch, they even got Michael Ironside in a small but great role who I expect was thrilled with the end result. And it was free on Youtube, how could I not give it 10 out of 10. If you love proper sci fi stories you'll love this.

Does it count if you binge watch a 7 short episodes.

Great sets, good storyline, high production values, good acting, believable premise.

Well done everyone.

Good UNTIL the last drop

Warning: Spoilers
Based on the reviews I thought this was going to be an outstanding series. And it was - at least until the final episode.

The premise is that the characters are caught in a time loop and only manage at the very end to break out of it (a plot already used years before in Star Trek The Next Generation - Cause and Effect). One little flaw ruins the ending. At the start of the series, the two versions of the Atropa collide after Cole comes on board. In the final episode Cole and Jacob destroy both Atropas after they have collided, but before another version of Cole appears (in time to rescue Moira). There is no reason given for why this Cole shows up after, rather than before the collision. They might as well have invoked deus ex machina.

This is not the best that sci-fi has to offer. It is not original, and it doesn't make sense.

A little GEM of a sci-fi series

Warning: Spoilers
I've never been compelled to write a review, but I thoroughly enjoyed this series. It was in my recommends on YouTube, and I found myself sitting through the entire thing in one sitting. I was actually surprised by some of the twists and heart this ended up having.

Is it a 10 out of 10? No, probably not. I'd rate it an honest 8, but I'm trying to counteract the moron reviewer who gave it a 2 because they fundamentally didn't understand the ending and thought it was an error (it's not).

Spoilers: That reviewer thought there was a "flaw" at the end because the ships collided and exploded *before* Cole arrived, unlike the first time. Uh, Cole wasn't there because Morra got to him first in the escape pod. He picked her up instead of boarding. It's not an error, it's literally why the ending works and makes sense. Baffled by people sometimes. Are they even watching the same show?

A Silly Movie
dctabv10 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This seemed like a Lifetime TV movie in space. The whole plot was terrible.

PLOT SPOILER: The plot can be summed up as: After a tragic incident, a wife leaves her husband and goes with another man into space, her simp husband then chases halfway across the galaxy after her. One version of him and one version of her end up together - presumably happily ever after.

Who thinks up this stuff?

END SPOILER.

BTW, do you think Lifetime would produce a movie with the genders reversed? I dont think so either. A silly movie.

Some have complained about the acting but I thought it was OK.

Lastly, despite it being in 4K format, the movie didnt play too well on my 4K Samsung. Much color banding. It may be a problem with Samsung Tvs but I also noticed the movie is in 8-bit color. Maybe 4K 8-bit movies dont display well on 4k TVs. Im not sure.
