- Lieutenant Joan Dark: That's the BFG-9000. I've only ever read about it. Never actually seen one. Of course, no Marine calls it that.
- Dr. Bennett Stone: What do they call it?
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: The Big Fucking Gun.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: You're Lieutenant... Joan Dark! In the mayhem of the moment, I completely forgot who you were. You're the one who set Rudolph Martin free.
- [to Cyr]
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: He's one of the most dangerous terrorists in the world.
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: That's not exactly how it happened.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: Of course, not. I'm sure you've got your side of the story. See, I'm briefed on all matters that pertain to this base, so I only read the official conclusion of the review board. Although it did strike me as odd that a unit as accomplished as yours should be assigned here. As I recall, you disobeyed a direct order, so my base is your punishment.
- Private Steven Winslow: [in the middle of fighting possessed scientists] Fuck this, I'm too young to die!
- Chaplain: Those slabs ain't for travel, they opened up a portal to Hell for those things to come through.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: Don't be ridiculous, this was just a setback.
- Private Carley Corbin: Did you just call what happened today a setback?
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: My business is saving humanity. A handful of lives lost is tragic, but yes... a setback.
- Akua: Can't believe you're bringing that weak-ass shit.
- Captain Hector Savage: You got your toy.
- [swings up the Super Shotgun]
- Captain Hector Savage: I got mine.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: [activating the portal to Hell] Earth was THEIRS long before it was ours! Language, science, math! They gave us everything! Without them, we wouldn't evolve! They simply want what's rightfully theirs back.
- The Overlord: Humans... is there anything more pathetic? A parasite on creation. The plague of the universe. We should've wiped you from existence when we had the chance. A mistake which won't be repeated. We've waited millennia to reclaim what's rightfully ours, Joan. And thanks to you, we now know the way back.
- Private Steven Winslow: You guys know what this is, right?
- Private Li Chen: Ugh, not this again.
- Private Steven Winslow: It's aliens!
- Private Carley Corbin: Aliens?
- Captain Fadel Tarek: Hey, Winslow.
- Private Steven Winslow: Yes, mate?
- Captain Fadel Tarek: In all recorded human history, there's never ever been any evidence of extra terrestrial life.
- Private Steven Winslow: Hey, just because there hasn't been doesn't mean there weren't!
- [to Bennett]
- Private Steven Winslow: And they are gonna rue the day they fuck with me, Doc.
- [cocks his weapon]
- Private Steven Winslow: I'm your ultra nightmare.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: These Gates are the greatest discovery in the history of mankind and they will not be sacrificed! I will not allow it!
- Dr. Bennett Stone: My god, I knew they were doing some groundbreaking things here, but teleportation? That's incredible.
- Private Rance Redguo: Yeah, well your lovely doctor's a bit of an egomaniac, isn't he?
- Dr. Bennett Stone: He kinda has a right to be.
- Private Rance Redguo: Why?
- Dr. Bennett Stone: As well as working on a way for human beings to travel millions of light years in mere seconds, he may have discovered things that have baffled scientists for centuries.
- Private Steven Winslow: Like what, Doc?
- Dr. Bennett Stone: Well, one of mankind's earliest forms of language was Sumerian. What if they were the ones who brought the language to us? And with their advanced technology, what if they're responsible for other mysteries, too? Like how the pyramids were built?
- Private Carley Corbin: These things killed several of my friends and tried to tear us apart. You'll forgive me if I don't rejoice in their discovery.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: Was it your ego, "Lieutenant"? Or did you just know better? Or did you make a mistake? I mean, we all make mistakes. I certainly did!
- [chuckles]
- Private Steven Winslow: Hey! That's enough, Doc!
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: Ah, Private Winslow. In your testimony to the review board, you said Lieutenant Dark was incompetent, should be arrested and dishonorably discharged! Private Corbin, you asked to be reassigned, citing that you could never trust Lieutenant Dark again!
- Private Carley Corbin: Joan! I never said that!
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: And your Captain Savage, he asked if Lieutenant Dark... was guilty of treason! TREASON! Which carries the death penalty!
- Dr. Ahmed Kahn: [Last lines]
- [as a sedated Joan Dark is being dragged away, the portal activates]
- Dr. Ahmed Kahn: Okay! This could be Dr. Betruger now!
- Private Steven Winslow: [the unit is being put on Phobos as Security] Why did we all get sent here? There's only one of us that fucked up. But, what, we all get fucked?
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: I'm right here. If you're gonna talk about me, have the balls to address me directly!
- Private Steven Winslow: You fucked up, Lieutenant! And now, we're all stuck here on a three-year tour of the fucking Doomed Moon!
- Captain Hector Savage: Alright, knock it off! Now, we succeed and fail as a unit. And if you think I can't find a worse place in the solar system to park your ass for a few years, try me.
- Captain Hector Savage: Now, the facility is built into the moon, and is divided into three levels. Main level includes the cargo bay, various offices, living quarters, administrative offices and amenities. Level two, service and maintenance. It's also where they store the computer servers. And finally, level three contains the laboratories and reactor.
- Private Li Chen: What kind of a reactor?
- Dr. Bennett Stone: Fusion reactor.
- Private Li Chen: Nuclear?
- Dr. Bennett Stone: Yeah, but it's safe.
- Private Rance Redguo: Because nothing bad ever happened with nuclear power.
- Dr. Bennett Stone: Well, the moon poses more risk than the reactor.
- Sergeant Logan Akua: What do you mean?
- Dr. Bennett Stone: Well, Phobos is one of the most unstable environments in the solar system. That's why they call it 'The Doomed Moon.'
- Private Carley Corbin: Cool!
- Captain Hector Savage: Thank you, Dr. Stone, for properly scaring the shit out of us all.
- Dr. Ahmed Kahn: Dr. Betruger, what if the trip wasn't as instantaneous as it first appeared? We are violating the laws of physics.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: I'm fully aware of what we're doing. Ahmed, we're running out of time. If we don't show progress, they'll shut us down. There's too much at stake. I'm not going to allow bureaucrats that don't understand the science that keeps them alive today determine the science that will keep them alive tomorrow.
- Dr. Ahmed Kahn: I could not, in good conscience, select another to go through the Gates.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: You won't have to. I'll go myself.
- Dr. Bennett Stone: [Joan and Bennett are waiting for an elevator to take them down to where the portal is; Joan smirks] What's funny?
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: Our first date? That restaurant you took me to was on the roof of that hotel. We had to take the stairs all the way because you were afraid of elevators.
- Dr. Bennett Stone: [Smirks] You remembered.
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: Never forgot. Anything.
- Dr. Bennett Stone: I hate to break it to you, but I... I'm still scared of elevators.
- [Both chuckle; when the elevator doors open, Bennett is immediately dragged in by an Imp as the doors close]
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: I was reborn, Joan. What I thought was punishment, turned out to be my salvation. He gave me a purpose. He showed me the way and he'll do the same for all mankind.
- Captain Hector Savage: Phobos runs on Martian time. A Martian day is called a sol. A sol is 24 hours and 39 minutes long. Phobos is the innermost and larger of the two Martian moons and the research facility is located a click north of the Stickney crater.
- Private Rance Redguo: Yes, sir. Is all this information going to be on the test?
- Captain Hector Savage: Shut up, Rance.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: Lieutenant Dark. Your persistence is impressive.
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: I'm gonna need you to power down and step away from the controls.
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: No, I'm sorry. I've spent my entire life looking for the new world. I finally found it.
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: Consider this your last warning, Doctor!
- [Betruger utters a phrase in Sumerian]
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: What did you say?
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: I wasn't talking to you.
- [Doors open, an Imp runs out. Joan blasts it with the BFG-9000]
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: Someone found a shiny, new toy.
- Daisy: Have come to reclaim what is ours. Through wrath will come justice. Through pain, divinity. No escape this time.
- Captain Fadel Tarek: By the way, guys. Who's gonna tell Carley that the Cryo-Sleep turned her hair blue?
- Sergeant Logan Akua: Carley, that deep-sleep learning program. That shit really work?
- Private Carley Corbin: [Speaking French] Yes, my friend. It worked perfectly.
- Captain Fadel Tarek: You know, I had to actually learn my foreign languages.
- Private Steven Winslow: Yeah, dead languages no one's ever heard of.
- Private Carley Corbin: [in French] Don't be jealous!
- [last lines]
- Dr. Malcolm Betruger: [having been shot point blank to no effect] You can't kill what's already dead.
- [sends Joan Dark straight into the portal to Hell]
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: [after half of the squad was just killed by demons, Joan pushes Bennett up against a wall] What the fuck is going on? No bullshit!
- Dr. Bennett Stone: I don't know! I swear!
- Lieutenant Joan Dark: There's something that you are not telling us.
- Dr. Bennett Stone: They found evidence of alien life.
- Private Steven Winslow: I fucking knew it!
