Slow burn?!
danielkelso-1026526 August 2019
Well I guess this one's a slow burner. I haven't condemned it as bad yet, but nor can I pronounce it good. It's starting to get a little creepy, but it's certainly not as compelling as season one. That season had great atmosphere, cast and a historical event I was far more well versed in.

I'll persevere. I'm hoping by the end of next episode I'll actually be immersed in the story.

Being Patient

I love the idea of a historical horror anthology series. I really like the premise of this season; an evil spirit haunting the community of a Japanese Internment Camp. But I don't find much to like in our main character Chester and would like The Terror to start terrorizing a bit more. But I'm patient. I'm sure these first few episodes are set up for something bigger to come. That's how the first season went and in the end I enjoyed it very much. So here's to hoping the season begins to pick up from here and ends up being a great bit of television, because I really want this show to get good enough ratings to continue on and see what they come up with for future seasons.

Haunting beauty

Fresh ideas (historic events, but not often addressed in movies and shows), presented in a stilish and haunting beauty - even if you are not a fan of the 1930ies and 1940ies (like me) - you should check this out. This production is truly worth it.

Not as good as S1

I was very hopeful for this season after how good season 1 was, but it's not working yet. I was hopeful especially with George Takei who was actually in a camp during WW2. Unfortunately there are inaccuracies with the actual history that are unneeded for the story line. Perhaps it will take a few more ep's but the problem is will the show run out of ep's before hitting a good prime.

Awful season

Warning: Spoilers
I can't figure out how an outstanding first season of this anthology series, with a great plot and intelligent dialogues could be so bad as this second season. Just considering the goof of Luz be still pregnant after a year since Chester was ordering the abortive "magical" formula from Yuko in Episode One gives a flavor of how weak this season is. The "Evil Ghost" or the shape-shifting "bakemono" character/plot aspect is a very weak one, almost comical. The subliminar message is a severe social critic of how current US Government is treating Latin illegal immigrants, in a very similar way soldiers treated the Japanese descendant children. Besides all of these considerations, the series is too predictable and full of cliches.
