- In the first couple of episodes there is quite graphic rather rough gay sex shown on 2 occasions and it is implied at other points throughout the series. Penises are not shown. No foreplay, some kissing and then immediate penetration in a rough and fast manner.
- There is a scene where 2 clips of soft core pornography is shown. It looks like the type that used to be around in the 80s rather than the violent content which is mainstream today. No penetration is shown and no breasts, penises or vulvas are visible. The harms of pornography are discussed in regards to being accessible by children.

- Two main characters attempt to escape from a country in an inflated raft, which is overcrowded. It is shown in flashes that the trip is treacherous, and one of them drowns.
- A number of dead bodies are shown lying on a beach. It is obvious that each of them have drowned. Close-ups are shown on their faces. No outward gore, but the scene is disturbing, as one of the main characters is also shown to have died.
