Well-made Gay chamber drama
lor_18 August 2018
Using her minimum casting of four Gay performers, Nica Noelle hits the mark in this sixth edition of a popular Icon Male series she created, delving into May-December romances involving guys rather heterosexual couples. And why not - she did exemplary work years ago involving age-disparate lesbian couples years back for sister label Sweetheart Video.

Two bears played by Hugh Hunter and newcomer to Nica's troupe Dolf Dietrich are a mature married couple, living with Hunter's son Tommy (Troy Accola, a favorite "twink" in the Noelle stable). Backstory has a 25-year-old previously unknown off-spring of Dietrich's named John (solid Brendan Patrick) arriving from Ireland, where Dolf had a one-night stand with gasp! a woman way back when.

The addition of the bearded stranger John to the group produces the expected yearnings and jealousies, as Nica puts the players through the usual concatenations of the sexual possibilities, avoiding incest. It is as father figures that these bears conquer the young 'uns, though casting Patrick (the logical Irishman in Nica's troupe) has the drawback that he seems almost as old as the two daddies.

Actors underplay well and reflect the gradual increase in comfort level for Icon Male talent, mainly drawn from performers whose background is largely in the gonzo approach of mainstream Gay Porn. Nica demands much of them, and they deliver.
