I'm Done.
Anonnamus9 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The only reason I started writing these reviews is because of my increasing dislike for Elizabeth. I wanted a place to vent my frustrations, as all my friends have long abandoned this show. This episode sealed it.

  • Vontae and Vega need to escape with Red. I like them both. I find that the "criminals" are far more likable than the "good guys."

  • Elizabeth's eyebrows look like they're not on speaking terms.

  • The Bad Guy of the Week was pretty weak. It was a distraction against the real story we care about, the fate of Reddington.

  • I love Aram. He's adorable, but can we please make him a little less awkward and nerdy? He supposedly went through some sort of physical training at his request, but he still handles a weapon like a nun.

  • Why is Samar getting virtually no screen time in every episode? Are the writers phasing her out?

  • Sima giving up the info that Red was working with the Feds was despicable. There has to be something behind his desperate effort to give Red the death penalty. He has to be blackmailed by someone. The way this show is going, I wouldn't be surprised if I hear that Katarina is responsible.

  • I already hate Liz for what she did to Red, so let's go ahead and make her responsible for Red getting caught in that escape he was seconds away from. Fantastic. Oh, and then she whines to Red that he didn't tell her his plan, basically again not taking responsibility and putting the blame on Red. I don't understand why she thinks she's entitled to know everything about everyone at any time. She can keep secrets but no one else can. If she doesn't get what's coming to her for her betrayal, I'm not sure I can continue to watch.

I have tried to watch objectively and see things from Elizabeth's point of view, but I can't anymore. She's become a despicable character, and I truly don't know how she can come back from that. Writers, you have so much potential. This is such a great show. Stop making it so difficult to even want to watch.

"I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him"
drnikic1 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm really starting to think Liz has Multiple Personality Dissociative Disorder, caused by childhood trauma.

She turned him in to the police to further her own agenda, knowing what was at stake if he was found guilty of capital crimes.

Then she cries over his fate multiple times and begs him to let her testify in a court he wouldn't be in if not for her.

At least she only inadvertently screwed his escape plan....

Liz..... Again
tert7214 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Liz is like an immature 13 year old.... Maybe a 3 year old... Why does she feel entitled to know EVERYTHING about Reddington when the hypocrite keeps stuff from him also? As I have said in other reviews, she is the worst fbi agent ever, real or otherwise, and that's saying A LOT. and her "fighting" skills.... Seems like one min she is taking out a team of commandos in hand to hand, yet keeps getting bested by grandma's and the like......... Of course I'm watching because of red's character, but I guess making a villain out of Liz is fine.

Better episode than most but the writhing is getting bad. The fact Elizabeth turned him in was not surprising and dumb. Like a child came up with him. The cases are smart but the rest is just too long

Amazing Episode

This was one of the best episodes of the Blacklist I have ever seen. Classic Red, doing what Red does best!

They Think Red Is Cold Blooded!
Hitchcoc30 November 2022
This is the "escape" episode. Reddington puts together a ridiculous plot to escape prison. He has confessed and pleaded guilty to save the task force. He gets his prison confederates to aid him in a sort of cute, but totally unbelievable escape plan. Of course, Liz comes in and screws the whole thing up. I think the writers are going out of their ways to make us like her even less (if that is possible). We are introduced to the Cryptobanker who is extorting huge amounts of money. He is so dangerous because he takes then kills. He has control over pacemakers that will malfunction if he doesn't get a huge ransom.

Sickening
cbenzion30 May 2021
We have watched Liz flip flop on Reddington more times than I can count.

But the worst was her pleading and praise in court. "His many acts of conscience".

What baloney! The man kills a dozen people every month. For every bad guy he helps the FBI catch, saving lives, Reddington kills in cold blood a dozen others. And most not by necessity to catch the villain, but to achieve some ulterior notice for his own gain, like selling arms to terrorists.

It's safe to say that one Reddington equals five of the violent criminials he help the FBI capture.

Add to that the fact that he is NOT Liz's father and therefore he's "working over" Liz and taking advantage of her - until recently - under false pretenses.

And even now that she knows he's an imposter, she still aids and abets his criminal career.

Even the FBI team has become railroaded into believing that Reddington can murder dozens of people they themselves never would, in order to catch criminals often not much worse than Reddington himself.

I am most disappointed at reviewers her that ooh and ah about Reddington as he were Robin Hood instead of a selfish violent criminal that helps the FBI 10% and himself 90%.

Karma is a .....
foamythefearsome7 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I loved this episode primarily because of Reddingtons escape plan, and how in the end it failed because Liz tried to help. Seeing Liz preach about Reddington in the courtroom when it was her doing that put him there was kind of adding insult to injury, but then again now that Jennifer is no longer in the picture, I guess her sanity can restore (Im quite sure it wont, but it'd be an explanation to her erratic behavior).

Red's resourcefulness granted him the ability to escape, which he had to in order not to screw Liz and the Taskforce, which is ironic on its own. Him not wanting Liz to interfere is a standard, but then Liz interfering and accidentally triggering their response team to capture red right before the end? That's just Karmic retribution. Pushing the fact that you need to think before you act right in her face.

In general it's good to see the crazy, daring plans - that usually succeed, no matter how improbable - can actually fail too. Shows sometimes forget that having all these on-the-edge, timer-to-0 perfect solutions only hold your attention when they can also show that sometimes, the stars do not align. This made the episode surprising and puts Raymond back on the clock.

This probably sounds more negative than intended - I don't like how Liz' character is developing, but actually think the show deals with her character change properly in this season. The 10 stars are serious, it's a great episode.

Elizabeth Kane is the worst character ever!
lakesbus8 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, the first four seasons were amazing. The fifth was good. This season is getting tedious and Elizabeth Keen is the least sympathetic, stupidest character in the history of TV. She's annoying beyond belief and I'm rooting for Raymond or Dembe to just shoot her.

Oh Dear.
3823bram7 August 2019
Unfortunately, the biggest problem with this show at the moment is one of it's main characters and that is never good. The viewer should be rooting for Elizabeth, but she has become so damn annoying (nearly as much so as her 'sister') that it's virtually impossible. The show is still watchable, but I find myself hoping she is in each episode as little as possible. The writers and runners need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Show runners Ruining the Show
doug2go15 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
When Elizabeth derailed Reds escape that was pretty close to it for me on this show. The Show runners are milking his imprisonment too long and too frustrating. . Elizabeth has become a pariah to the show and evil incarnate - that isn't why I have been watching this show and not likely to continue if this isn't resolved on the very next show - I have talked to several other faithful fans and they all feel the same way. I have seen more shows ruined and cancelled because the show runners fall in love with a continuing theme - take a page from NCIS - On occasion they will have a romantic interlude that lasts awhile but it doesn't distract from the show basic theme - this loop has taken over the basic reason for the show and I for one don't like it.

Elizabeth is horrible
Jinx-to-Ennien21 January 2022
Is Elizabeth related to Kate on Lost? She is one of the most annoying, interfering, obnoxious characters on television. She always has to do things her way and this causes way took many problems. Drop her on an island.

This has gone too far!
malabarspiceghk23 July 2020
I believe Season 5 & 6 have been disastrous. The writers are testing the viewers patience with absurdities. Acting by Liz, Aram &, Navabi's acting is disastrous. And Liz is the worst among them. A stump could do a better job! As far as I am concerned its bye-bye for this show. Enjoyed it immensely until Season 4! I know it doesn't matter much though since the Show is off the air! But it is a fair warning to all prospective viewers out there on streaming sites.

My Last episode
venerisdeus27 May 2022
After great first couple seasons, things began to loose logic and now my patience is gone, along with the writers common sense. This is definitely the last episode I am watching. I have no words to express my dissapointment.

A Missed Goof
martymoves31 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Wanted to add this in the "goofs" area but there was no option to add it in so I am writing it here.

When Aram is giving the code to Pierson and he specifically states that a single error could be catastrophic, he dictates the code as:

Seven (7), "S", dash (-), Eight (8), Pound (#), Zero (0), D, Seven (7), D.

It is clearly displayed on the screen and you can hear him enunciate the first D in the sequence.

In the captions for this episode, the first "D" is misplaced with an "E". You have to be completely blind to have missed this and gotten it wrong.

This person would have cost 200,000 people their lives... in The Blacklist universe anyway.

(I realise this was not IN the episode, but to those that require captions it would leave them baffled)
