On February 14, 2024, Pedro Pascal was confirmed to be playing Reed Richards in Marvel Studios' upcoming "Fantastic Four" movie (/Film broke this fantastic scoop early).
More recently, reporting has claimed that before Pascal was locked in, British actor Rahul Kohli was in the running to play Reed. Kohli had been a popular fancasting choice for Reed Richards -- much like John Krasinski, who ended up playing a Reed variant in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." /Film even named Kohli as one of the actors we'd prefer to see play Mister Fantastic more than Krasinski. So, the idea that he came close to getting the part created intrigue.
But it's not true; Kohli was not in the running to play Mister Fantastic (at least outside fans' hearts and minds). The news sparked after a recent interview between Kohli and Salaam Nerds. During said interview, Kohli acknowledged the fancasts of him...

Recently, Giancarlo Esposito made headlines by expressing his desire to portray Professor X in the MCU, suggesting the character should not use a wheelchair, as Esposito does not see himself as that old. This sparked mixed reactions among fans, some of whom still hope that Patrick Stewart will remain the primary Charles Xavier in the MCU despite his character’s death in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’
During a panel on Thunder Stage at Ccxp, Esposito confirmed his involvement in a Marvel project but clarified that it would not be as Professor X.
At the Phoenix Fan Fusion event, Esposito made a significant announcement: his role in the MCU will eventually be featured in a Disney+ series.

Raimi Productions, the genre-focused company run by Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi, has signed a first-look film and television deal with Ara Keshishian and Petr Jákl’s development and financing company Zq Entertainment.
The deal extends the long-standing relationship between the two companies, which most recently collaborated on the upcoming thriller “Locked,” directed by David Yaroveksy and starring Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins, and the horror-thriller “Don’t Move,” which was acquired by Netflix earlier this month.
“Don’t Move” follows a seasoned serial killer (Finn Witrock) who injects a grieving woman (Kelsey Asbille) with a paralytic agent while the two of them are isolated deep in the forest. As the agent gradually takes over her body, she must run, hide and fight for her life before her entire nervous system shuts down.

We've known for a couple of years now that Marvel had plans for more than one spin-off from WandaVision. With the endlessly title-shifting Agatha All Along already on the way, the company is finally moving forward on a show focused on the ghostly version of Vision, as played by Paul Bettany in the show. And unlike the Agatha series, which was overseen by WandaVision's Jac Schaeffer, this one has been placed in the hands of Star Trek: Picard Season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas.
While Variety brings word of the show's developments, there remains little official on the plot front. It'll presumably Vision's story as the "white" Vision, who had his memories restored by original flavour Vision, as he seeks to explore his new purpose in life.
Whether Olsen might appear (mostly likely in flashback given the events of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness) remains to be seen, but Bettany is confirmed to return.

We might finally be getting a new X-Men film as Michael Lesslie has been tapped to write a new film for Marvel.
It looks like the X-Men have come to stay in the MCU. After the disappointing Dark Phoenix, the X-Men have been laying low until we got quick teases in Ms. Marvel and The Marvels before Deadpool & Wolverine re-introduces everyone’s favourite grumpy mutant proper.
Deadline now reports that Marvel is planning a proper X-Men movie and Michael Lesslie is in negotiations to pen the script. Lesslie wrote last year’s Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes, proving he can adapt someone else’s material. Lesslie has also penned the script for the new Now You See Me sequel which will be filming later this year.

The X-Men are one step closer to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with their own movie.
Screenwriter Michael Lesslie (“The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes”) is in talks with Marvel Studios to write the first “X-Men” movie since the mutant superhero franchise was acquired by Disney in its purchase of 21st Century Fox in 2019.
As with every Marvel Studios film, Kevin Feige will produce, but nothing else about the film has been set, including director or cast. Marvel has been slowly seeding the MCU with mutants over the past two years, including brief mentions in 2022’s “Ms. Marvel” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and appearances of the X-Men’s namesake and leader, Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), in an alternative universe in 2022’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” and of Beast (Kelsey Grammer) in the post-credits sequence of 2023’s “The Marvels.”

Like any good superhero, Marvel Television has returned from the dead. The label is what the Marvel Netflix shows like "Daredevil" and the ABC ones like "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." were made under. Marvel Television was rendered defunct in 2019 after Marvel Studios absorbed it. Now, though its operations remain under the studio's purview, its name is being used again as part of an effort to more cleanly delineate the projects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios will continue to be the label of the films, while Marvel Television will headline upcoming Disney+ programs like "Agatha All Along" and "Daredevil: Born Again." Marvel Animation will cover projects like the excellent "X-Men '97" (which is not part of the MCU), while Marvel Spotlight is for small-scale projects like "Echo" (read our review here).

One of the biggest criticisms of Marvel Studios, as of late, is that the continuity has become too difficult to keep up with. The general movie-goer isn’t able to watch “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” for example, without doing some sort of superhero homework to catch up. Well, to help alleviate those concerns, Marvel Studios is emphasizing different “banners” to show that not everything is connected, and viewers don’t have to follow every project.

Doctor Strange has become one of the MCU’s most prominent and crucial characters. Despite a humble origin story, he has grown significantly in importance. After “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” fans anticipated he would play a central role in the multiverse saga.
However, his future in the MCU now appears less certain than initially thought.
Marvel has over 30 projects in development or production, and we’ve covered most of them through various reports. However, almost nothing is known about “Doctor Strange 3.” In a recent interview with The Playlist, Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that he knows as little as the public does. When asked about plans for “Doctor Strange 3,” he responded with, “Who knows.”
If this installment isn’t forthcoming, it’s expected that the Sorcerer Supreme will appear in “Avengers 5,” but Cumberbatch is not privy to those details either.

Two years have passed since the release of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ yet it’s only recently come to light that it stands among the most expensive films ever made, both within the MCU and in the broader cinematic landscape. According to Forbes, Disney has revealed that the budget for the 2022 superhero flick reached an astonishing $414.9 million, surpassing even the hefty budget of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron.’
However, ‘Age of Ultron’ outperformed ‘Multiverse of Madness’ in box office profits, despite its lower production cost. Benedict Cumberbatch returns as the sorcerer in the sequel to 2016’s ‘Doctor Strange,’ alongside Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch. Nevertheless, despite its monumental production expenses, the film still yielded significant earnings.
‘Avengers: Endgame’ reigns supreme with earnings of $2,799,439,100, followed by ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ with $2,052,415,039. Released in 2022, ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ earned $955,775,804, while its predecessor ‘Doctor Strange’ (2016) garnered $677,796,833. Forbes estimates that...

It’s been 2 years since ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ was released, but we’re only now learning that it was one of the most expensive movies ever made, in the MCU and in general.
Disney has disclosed that the budget for the 2022 superhero film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reached a remarkable $414.9 million as reported by Forbes, surpassing even the hefty budget of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron.’

The film, a sequel to 2016’s ‘Doctor Strange,’ features Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role as the sorcerer, alongside Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch.
Still, despite the gargantuan production costs, the movie still managed to earn quite a bit.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness certainly was a spectacular movie in terms of the amount of CGI it had to use. It turns out that the sequel also cost a lot of money, surpassing the budget of a far superior MCU film.
Forbes reports that Disney finally declared the production cost of Benedict Cumberbatch’s adventure in the Multiverse, which was $414.9 million. Forbes thinks this surpassed Avengers: Age of Ultron‘s budget, but I don’t think that’s right.
In a 2018 article, the publication stated that Avengers 2 cost $495.2 million. Even adjusting for inflation, the Ultron movie would still cost more. Why is the film’s budget now scaled back to $388.3m?
Forbes does not link to the previous story or the financial snapshot it provided in 2018, but I will:
Here’s the new cost chart Forbes uses in the latest article:
Regardless, Doctor Strange 2 was profitable on paper.

The MTV Movie & TV Awards is taking another break. Variety has confirmed that the event, which would have normally taken place around this time of year, will instead sit 2024 out — with an eye toward returning next year, perhaps in a different, “reimagined” format.
It’s been a bumpy decade for the MTV Movie & TV Awards, which first began in 1992 (as the MTV Movie Awards). Last’s year’s event was forced to pivot to a pre-taped clip show in light of the Hollywood writers’ strike, as host Drew Barrymore bowed out and the WGA announced plans to picket the ceremony.
Meanwhile, in 2020, the MTV Movie & TV Awards also didn’t take place, due in part to the Covid-19 pandemic, but also because the network had planned to move the franchise (long a spring/early summer staple) to December. Ultimately, instead of an awards show, MTV ran a “MTV Movie & TV...

Agatha remains one of Marvel Studios' most intriguing upcoming projects, particularly with it serving as a follow-up to 2021's critically acclaimed WandaVision.
Nexus Point News has today shared new intel on the show's characters, starting with Joe Locke's Billy. They believe the plan is to reveal his true identity as the teenage son of Wanda Maximoff later in the series, making it a huge moment for non-comic book readers.
Aubrey Plaza is Rio Vidal, one of Agatha's antagonists, while Patti LuPone is Lilia Calderu, Sasheer Zamata is Jennifer Kale, and Ali Ahn is Alice Wu.
Miles Guiterrez-Riley, meanwhile, is said to be playing Eddie, Billy's boyfriend. Likely to disappoint fans is the fact it doesn't sound like he has any connection to Teddy Altman, a.k.a. Hulking. Perhaps we'll meet him down the line; then again, it could be that Bruce Banner's son first introduced in She-Hulk...

The summer box office isn’t exactly starting with a bang. Universal’s action-romance “The Fall Guy,” starring Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stuntman courting a rising director played by Emily Blunt, earned $10.4 million from 4,002 locations on its opening day, a figure that includes $3 million and change from preview screenings. The feature is now projecting a three-day opening of $28 million, which would leave it short of industry projections that had forecast a debut in the low-to-mid 30’s.
It’s not a great result for Universal, which hasn’t succeeded in getting much traction out of Gosling’s red-hot post-“Barbie” media presence and a bunch of rave reviews for the action film out of a buzzy March premiere at SXSW Festival. With a $130 million production budget, the David Leitch-directed feature doesn’t carry the heavy financial expectations of the summer’s biggest tentpoles, but it’s still got a substantial number to recoup.

In March 2019, Marvel Studios regained the film rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool after Disney acquired Fox for $71.3 billion.
These characters are set to be incorporated into the MCU. In October 2020, the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ films were labeled as “Marvel Legacy films” on Disney+. Notably, Patrick Stewart reprised his role as an alternate Professor X in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ and Kelsey Grammer returned as Beast in ‘The Marvels.’ ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ will bring Deadpool and Wolverine, played by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, respectively, into the MCU continuity. As time passes, it becomes more evident that we are approaching the reboot. Therefore, we’ve compiled everything we know so far.
The studio is said to be seeking a mix of drama and comedy
Very little is known about the upcoming project’s plot, but the studio has recently ramped up its search for a writer.

A few weeks ago, X-Men '97 delivered its most devastating episode to date when the master Mold Sentinel was unleashed on Genosha and killed countless mutants.
Tragically, Gambit was among them. However, following Cable's arrival in the present day, the prevailing theory among fans has been that time travel will ultimately be used to undo Bastion's attack and likely bring the fan-favourite Cajun mutant back from the dead.
Today's episode of X-Men '97, titled "Tolerance Is Extinction - Part 1," appears to dispel that notion once and for all. We learn that Cable has travelled back in time to the attack on Genosha countless times, only to be temporally pulled away from the event before he can stop it.

The underrated origin film might not have indulged in the same kind of cameo trend and crossover hype tactics as some of the bigger titles that followed in its footsteps, not to mention reaching the same heights at the box office, but the movie still established quite a few benchmarks the franchise would continue to rely upon. For one thing, Derrickson and his creative team clearly defined the visuals of the cosmic side of the MCU -- something we've seen even in the latest "Deadpool & Wolverine" trailer. For another, taking the time to flesh out Stephen Strange's unique backstory allowed subsequent projects to hit the ground running (such as "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" or the Disney+ "What If?" series) and further...

For over two decades, Patrick Stewart has been synonymous with the iconic role of Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, in the X-Men franchise and the MCU. His portrayal of the wise and powerful mutant leader has left an indelible mark on audiences worldwide.
However, when it came to reprising his role in the 2017 film Logan, Stewart couldn’t shake off concerns about potentially being typecast as an elderly character.

Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament is back. While studios during Covid wildly embraced the theatrical day-and-date model when cinemas were closed, they soon realized there’s nothing more profitable than a theatrical release and the downstreams that come with it. If anything, theatrical is the advertisement for a movie’s longevity in subsequent home entertainment windows. Entering the conversation in 2023 were the streamers, such as Apple, who have also realized the necessity of theatrical to eventize their movies. The financial data pulled together here for Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster Tournament is culled by seasoned and trusted sources.

"Evil Dead" fans had to wait a full decade between movies following the release of Fede Álvarez's 2013 entry in the long-running horror franchise. It seems the powers that be have no interest in making anyone wait that long again. To that end, we've learned that Francis Galluppi ("The Last Stop in Yuma County") has been tapped to write and direct a new movie set within the universe of Sam Raimi's original 1981 horror classic.
According to Deadline, Galluppi developed the idea and brought it to Raimi's team. They sparked to it and now it's officially in the works. No plot details have been revealed but it is described as an original story set within the "Evil Dead" universe. There's also no word yet on casting or anything like that -- meaning, it's unclear if any familiar characters will be included in this new installment. Rami had this to say...

In March 2019, Marvel Studios regained the film rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool following Disney’s acquisition of Fox for $71.3 billion.
These characters are set to join the MCU. In October 2020, the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ films were rebranded as “Marvel Legacy films” on Disney+. Notably, Patrick Stewart reprised his role as an alternate Professor X in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ and Kelsey Grammer returned as Beast in ‘The Marvels.’ Additionally, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will bring Deadpool and Wolverine, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, respectively, into the MCU continuity.
The ‘X-Men’ reboot has been discussed for a while, but it was the success of ‘X-Men ’97’ that truly got things moving. With the mutants’ popularity among Disney’s audience, it seems work on the project has intensified in recent months. Sam Raimi found great success with the ‘Spider-Man’ film trilogy, each installment grossing over $800 million worldwide. However, plans for further sequels were halted due to script issues. Disappointed with ‘Spider-Man 3,’ Raimi aimed to redeem the franchise with ‘Spider-Man 4,’ which unfortunately never came to fruition. In 2022, he expressed regret about not ending the series on a high note.
Despite this, Raimi’s involvement with Spider-Man continued as he and Marc Webb served as creative consultants for Marvel Studios’ ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ directed by Jon Watts. Recently, rumors have circulated about Raimi directing ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ the highly anticipated installment in the ‘Avengers’ franchise.
Recently, Raimi stated his desire to direct the final Phase 6 movie, but unfortunately, the studio hasn’t approached him yet.
I love 90% of the Marvel heroes that I’ve read in the great Stan Lee Marvel Universe comic books. I would love to work with Marvel again.

When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's approach to the multiverse on the big screen, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is the only movie that realizes the potential of franchise crossovers between the old guard of Marvel movies and the interconnected films of Kevin Feige's Marvel Studios. That's right, not even "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" properly delivered on the promise of a multiverse truly full of madness, opting instead for hollow fan service, even though director Sam Raimi had fun tearing all those alternate Marvel superheroes apart at the hands of the Scarlet Witch. Instead, it was the meeting of Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire as the various big screen Spider-Men that delivered a mostly satisfying spin through the wallcrawlers' weaving webs.

Doctor Strange is not a new character for an average Marvel fan, but it was for a lot of fans who were unfamiliar with Marvel comics when the character was first brought to the screen in 2016. Co-written and directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange was a glorious success and was widely liked by fans and critics alike.

Yet while its sequel was an even bigger financial success, there were a lot of mixed reactions from fans who called it too dark for an MCU entry. Directed by Sam Raimi, the movie was different than the first one. And recently Derrickson revealed how his version of the sequel was different than Raimi’s, making fans demand to get it made.

Attention: The Following Report Is A Rumor. Please Take The Following Story With A Grain Of Salt.
The 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home was seen as not only the third installment of a popular trilogy of Spider-Man films but also the celebration of two decades of Spider-Man in the cinema. Bringing together the worlds of Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire was seen as a cinematic event on par with Avengers: Endgame.
Nearly three years later, Sony has been dropping the ball on nearly every Spider-Verse-related project, with massive flops such as Morbius and Madame Web. With Sony seemingly desperate to hang on to the Spider-Man license, they know they need the next Tom Holland Spider-Man film to be on equal footing with the previous film.
One of the rumored plots for the project would be a direct follow-up with both Garfield and Maguire returning, while Kevin Feige wants to start fresh.

Visual effects studio Digital Domain is introducing a new version of its Masquerade facial motion capture system, which eliminates the need for actors to wear tracking markers on their faces during production. Cto Hanno Basse tells Variety that the company is sharing the development with customers and “we’re probably going to do several projects this year” using the tech.
A bit of history: Earlier versions of Masquerade were used by Digital Domain to enable Josh Brolin to play Thanos in “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame” and Tatiana Maslany to portray the titular “She Hulk.”
Basse believes that by eliminating the need to use tracking markers, Masquerade3 can save time and money while getting a more precise performance.
“It removes the need of getting the dots on people’s faces every day. So it saves time and money on set,” he says. “The other thing was, because the dots...

Marvel Studios has a bunch of new movies lined up, but lately, they’ve had some bumps in the road with their recent projects. People are saying they should slow down a bit with all these shows and movies that aren’t hitting the mark. But when it comes to Spider-Man, it’s a whole different story. He always brings in the crowds, making the Spider-Man franchise the biggest moneymaker for Marvel, no matter what they put out.

MCU has quite a slate of movies coming up, even though Marvel Studios has hit a rough patch with the last couple of projects. There have been talks about releasing fewer projects, as fans are definitely becoming tired of shows and movies of lower quality; still, if one character always managed to drag people to movies, it’s Spider-Man, by far the most profitable Marvel franchise, no matter the product you’re looking at.
Several months ago it was confirmed that ‘Spider-Man 4’ is in active development, at first rumors were circulating that Watts would return to direct it, but he ultimately moved on to other projects, just like Drew Goddard and Justin Lin.

The downside to the now-inoperative Marvel Television was that its offerings were exhaustively inconsistent in quality. Would you get a mature, nuanced examination of topics like systemic corruption, religious faith, and personal trauma like in "Daredevil"? Or would you get a clumsy mashup of "Succession"-style dynasty drama and white savior tropes like in "Iron Fist"? One could never be too sure. But while the lows were especially low, the highs also tended to be higher than the Marvel Cinematic Universe's films.
Funnily enough, that trend has only continued since Marvel Television was restructured and folded into Marvel Studios. The McU's Disney+ shows have been all over the board so far, with the added wrinkle that most of them are woven deeper into the tapestry of the franchise's greater mythology and, as such, are harder for the McU's movies to ignore -- as we saw when "The Marvels" had to...

Marvel Studios celebrated the fourth of April with a post that seemed to double as a stealth "Fantastic Four" tease this week. On Thursday, the X account representing all things Marvel Cinematic Universe shared an illustration alongside four fire emojis. The artwork by Marvel Studios' Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding features The Human Torch, aka Johnny Storm, soaring through the sky above a white retro-futuristic metropolis skyline.
Storm looks at the viewers with an ultra-bright smile, and the trail of flames behind him makes the shape of the team's 4 logo. "Happy 4-4 Day!" a font emblazoned above him says. More interesting than the striking poster, though, is the link included in the tweet. Follow it, and you'll end up on a new page of the Marvel website titled "Future Foundation," which features a reading list of 4 classic "Fantastic Four" comics and one more recent title. 22 years ago, Sam Raimi helped prove just how big superhero movies could be with his first "Spider-Man" movie. Starring Tobey Maguire, the film broke box office records and kicked off the biggest individual superhero franchise around. Raimi and Maguire united for two more movies, with 2007's "Spider-Man 3" rounding out the trilogy with mixed results. The original plan was for the two to reunite on a fourth film that never came to pass. Instead, Sony opted to reboot the series with Andrew Garfield headlining "The Amazing Spider-Man" films. But everything old is new again. Recently, talk of "Spider-Man 4" kicked up and, while nothing has been made official, the time feels right. Truthfully, it might be a now or never situation.
To be clear, much of the talk surrounding a proposed "Spider-Man 4" is generated almost entirely from the rumor mill and appears to be based on next to nothing concrete.

The series ended when "Spider-Man 3," despite making nearly $900 million at the worldwide box office, wasn't as big a hit as the studio wanted. The budget for that film was also wildly high, costing as much as $350 million to make, and fans weren't as excited by the sloppy storytelling and strange Venom storyline.
Rather than push ahead with "Spider-Man 4," Sony elected to wait five years and reboot the continuity with "The Amazing Spider-Man" in 2012. That continuity was short-lived, ending in 2014 with the release of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Fan goodwill was at an all-time low. From there, a tertiary Spider-Man appeared in the now-flourishing Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We’re still a little surprised director Sam Raimi decided to return to the world of Marvel Comics for “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness.” Having already directed a trilogy of “Spider-Man” films and walking away from a fourth film, it had seemed that Raimi had exhausted himself with the genre. But Raimi apparently had a great time making the ‘Doctor Strange’ sequel, and he apparently is willing to do more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sam Raimi isn’t completely (web-)shooting down a return to Spider-Man.
The original “Spider-Man” director told Comic Book Resources at WonderCon that while he’s not “heard about” a “Spider-Man 4,” he’s certainly open to it — especially if Og Spidey Tobey Maguire is in. Raimi, who helmed the franchise trilogy from 2002-2007, says he’s read the same online rumors you have.
“Well, I haven’t heard about that yet,” Raimi said of rumors about a fourth film with Maguire in the lead. “I did read that, but I’m not actually working on it yet. I mean, Marvel and Columbia are so successful with current ‘Spider-Man’ [movies], and the track there, and I don’t know that they’re going to go back to me, and say, ‘Well, folks, we can also tell that story!’”

Rumors always seem to be swirling on social media that Sam Raimi is going to reunite with Tobey Maguire and direct a fourth “Spider-Man” movie. The duo jump-started a blockbuster age for comic book movies with 2002’s “Spider-Man” and delivered the genre one of its most acclaimed entries with 2004’s “Spider-Man 2.” Although 2007’s “Spider-Man 3” wasn’t a hit with critics, it still pulled in $895 million worldwide to become Raimi and Maguire’s biggest entry.
There was a time when Raimi was developing a “Spider-Man 4” at Sony, with Tobey Maguire back in the title role. The project was ultimately scrapped in favor of rebooting the web-slinger on the big screen with Andrew Garfield. Ever since Maguire returned to his Spider-Man role in 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” comic book movie fans have been clamoring for a proper “Spider-Man 4” from Raimi and his star.

Although there are multiple star-studded franchises in all of Hollywood’s entertainment industry, perhaps none comes close to such immaculate box office success as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially when it comes to worldwide openings, the MCU is widely the chart dominator and has achieved some of the most jaw-dropping feats as far as the box office is concerned.
The MCU is still dominating Hollywood’s entertainment industry.
As surprising as it may seem (especially to non-Marvel fans), the top 10 movies to have opened to the most massive global box office records include films from the MCU. According to the records, Marvel movies dominate 50% of the list, leaving only the 5 remaining positions for other films from other franchises.

Sam Raimi is finally addressing rumors that he’s working on a fourth Spider-Man movie starring Tobey Maguire.
Marvel fans have been speculating for quite some time that Raimi would reunite with Maguire for a potential fourth installment of the Spidey universe he created in 2002.
“Well, I haven’t heard about that yet,” Raimi said in an interview with Cbr during WonderCon about the rumors. “I did read that, but I’m not actually working on it yet. I mean, Marvel and Columbia are so successful with current Spider-Man [movies], and the track there, and I don’t know that they’re going to go back to me, and say, ‘Well, folks, we can also tell that story!'”
He continued, “I’m not sure, but I love all the new Spider-Man movies. I loved Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was really, super powerful seeing Tobey [Maguire] again in it.
