A casting call was shared on Facebook to fill the role of Rachel Carmichael and many friends of Candy began sharing it. Soon, Candy discovered that many locals were tagging one beautiful blonde girl in the post. Candy figured this must be one very talented actress to have so many people recommending her. To her surprise, the EP learned that if given the role of Rachel, Alexis Brunson would be a first time actress. Yet she had so many adoring fans who had confidence that she would make a great actress and they were right. Cast and crew often commented on how talented (and happy-go-lucky) Alexis (a girl from the small town of Jasonville) is. Alexis helped her sister, Halle snag a small role, appearing in two scenes.
When Producers held a live audition for young boys to try out for the role of Nicholas, Stuart Breiding's mother Alison told Candy J. Beard that her slightly older daughter was hoping there would have been a role she could have auditioned for as well. Tia had already had some acting experience on stage. Executive Producer (Candy) remembered that, months later when the role of Abigail had to be re-cast with just one week until filming began. Candy sent the sides to Alison for Tia Breiding to audition with and the production team was blown away by young Tia's ability to learn so much dialogue so quickly. She was offered the role and younger brother Stuart won the role of Nicholas.
In January 2019, when Screenwriter and Executive Producer, Candy J. Beard started thinking about casting her leads for THE TEXT, she had dreams of casting the legendary Marie Osmond in the role of Angela Carmichael. She had always been a big fan of Marie's music and TV specials and while she knew it was a long shot, she decided to reach out to Marie's longtime friend and Manager, Darla Sperry to make her desires known.
To Candy's surprise and great delight, Darla requested the script for herself and Marie to read. Soon after, Darla called Candy and told her that both she and Marie absolutely loved the script and wanted to further discuss the possibility of Marie taking the role, if financing could be secured. Darla also requested to view the last two previous films by Dreams Come True Films, so Candy sent them copies of the award winning romantic comedy (The Promise) as well as the multi award winning faith based (A Second Chance). Darla called Candy again to let her know that she and Marie loved the films and thought Candy and Daniel did great work and Marie would be excited to continue talks about participating in THE TEXT as leading lady. Candy was ecstatic but about a month later, Darla informed Candy that Marie would no longer be able to consider the opportunity to join THE TEXT because she was hired to join THE TALK, beginning in September of 2019.
Despite not being able to join Dreams Come True Films, Marie so graciously sent several autographed items (including her book, pictures and CD's) for Candy to auction off to help bring in funds for THE TEXT. She also included a very sweet and sentimental 8 X 10 personally signed photo for Candy, including telling her that she would love to work with her one day.

The number one cause of delays in filming THE TEXT in 2021 was ...... lawnmowers! In fact, on 3 different occasions, lead actor, Erandy would walk to whoever was mowing their lawn. He would kindly explain that we were filming a movie and needed silence around us. He would offer the person $20.00 if they would stop mowing until we finished. On every occasion, they were kind enough to stop and give us time to finish, and never once did anyone accept payment.
Screenwriter Candy J. Beard began writing the script in August 2013 and finished it in December 2018. In between, she wrote and produced Vanished, Cries Unheard, My Mother's Replacement, The Promise and A Second Chance. *The timing just had to be perfect.
