La chiesa (1989)
Utter C***
My god what a total mess, How anyone can like this movie is beyond me. I had seen Dario Argento's Demons a few years back and had heard this was just as good...I was wrong. The storyline was poor and a muddled mess and the least said about the acting the better, at the end of the film I just said "is that it", complete rubbish avoid at all costs.

Pit and the Pendulum (1961)
Nicholassss.....
Often films never live up to the book it was taken from but there are the odd exception to the rule. Before watching this film I had already read the Edgar Allen Poe story about a mysterious death of a young woman at a Spanish castle whose death is investigated by her brother. The film is directed by Roger Corman who did several film versions of Poe's stories including the superb The Masque of the Red Death. Vincent Price also stars in the film as the sinister Nicholas Medina. One point I will make however is that John Kerr who plays Francis Bernard does look rather wooden at times. But nevertheless this is still a very good film.
Fletch Lives (1989)
What can I do to you...for you
The summary of the movie tells it all, if you like bad jokes and Chevy Chase's style of humour then you will love this film. Returning as I.M. Fletcher Chase has to investigate the strange goings on at his newly acquired plantation Bell Isle. As Fletch starts snooping around he dons various disguises to get to the bottom of things, the best scene to look out for is when he acts as a pest controller from 'BUG Busters'. A MUST SEE.
Slipstream (1989)
Slowstream
I first saw this film about 8 years ago and couldn't really remember much about it, so I decided to watch it again when it was shown on tv recently. The story set in a Mad Max style future is nothing new but in this case the characters use gliders to make there way around the wasteland using the canyons of the apocalyptic world and the slipstreams which flow through them. The premise of the film is quite good but it never really gets off the ground, the plot remains a muddled mess and leaves the viewer quite confused and wondering what the film is exactly about. The story in itself is about two law enforcers who are taking a mysterious man to trial over a murder but things get complicated when a Matt Owen decides to take advantage of the reward on the murderers head, and the chase ensues. The only redeeming feature of the film is Mark Hamill's performance as one of the enforcers. Only watch this film if nothing else is on.
Per qualche dollaro in più (1965)
Bravo
The second in the 'dollars' trilogy is by far a better movie than 'A Fistful of Dollars' The story about two bounty killers forming a partnership to catch a bandit may sound run of the mill but the performances of the actors and the direction as well as the music make this film a superb cinematic experience. The film involves one of the bounty killers (Eastwood) infiltrating the band of desperadoes in order to get their hands on the bounty on their heads while the other bounty killer (Van Cleef) follows his every move just in case he decides to leave him out of there 'deal'. What follows is a series of bank holdups, jailbreaks and the film climaxes with a stand off between the bounty killers and the evil bandit Indio. Two scenes to watch out for are the match striking scene with the hunchback and when the Bounty killers first meet face to face. This film is a must see for all Western fans.
The Black Torment (1964)
Typical sixties Horror
Sir Richard Fordyce returns to his home after staying in London with his newly married wife. Upon his arrival the people of his estate greet him rather strangely. Fordyce also sees ghostly figures on the grounds of his estate. Is Fordyce slowly going mad or is there something more sinister at play.
