Open Water 2: Adrift (2006)
Uh, How Did This End?
I guess they shot two endings but couldn't decide which to use, so they just showed us both. Watch the whole thing then presented with that. Stupid.
Downsizing (2017)
Sixth Major Extinction Underway
It was a bit eerie when they got to the global warming preaching and mentioned the sixth major extinction. I had just listened to Dane Wigington's weekly broadcast where he mentioned the same thing (the 48 second video can be viewed on youtube on newsblip sixth mass extinction event now underway). I believe Dane is one of the few telling the truth, but when the powers that be are programming us with the same facts, it's unnerving. Because like vampires always asking before entering your home, the elite have to tell us what they're up to before they do. So again, eerie that the movie mentions the same thing.
Assassin's Creed (2016)
Most notable NWO quote
"People no longer care about their civil liberties, they care about their standard of life. The modern world has outgrown notions like freedom; they're content to follow." - Her Excellency Ellen Kaye (at 30:25)
If this doesn't describe current society, nothing does.
Chasing Ice (2012)
Nice analysis, but weak on the actual cause
This review had been deleted due to a report of "abuse" by another reader. Typically, there is no argument, just a report to authorities of "abuse", where there is none. Sadly, nowadays, having an opinion that looks at things from a different perspective is reported by the ignorant as abuse. More sadly, those that review the complaint agree with the complainant, again, where there is no "abuse".
Visual depiction, things change. There has been more CO2 in the air in the past, the earth survived. There are natural mechanisms that deal with CO2. What natural mechanism deals with the dumping of tons and tons of barium, aluminum, thorium, cadmium, chromium, and nickel in our skies? If you're interested in thinking outside the CO2 box, check out multiple internet sites related to 'chemtrails' or 'geoengineering' that I'm not allowed to cite here.
Example: "For more than a decade, first the United States and then Canada's citizens have been subjected to a 24/7/365 day aerosol assault over our heads made of a toxic brew of poisonous heavy metals, chemicals, and other dangerous ingredients. None of this was reported by any mainstream media."
Rather, planes (fitted with special nozzles) release aerosols "lines" in the sky that do not evaporate. At first, these lines are thin; but soon they expand and, in a short time, merge together. Our once-blue sky has vanished and has been replaced by a grayish-white toxic haze that blots out and greatly diminishes our usual sunshine.
Taxi (2004)
Why do they keep making movies like this?
This movie wasn't worth the film it was put on. Plot that's been done one way or the other 1000 times before. Car chases - can't ever get enough of those, can ya? Idiot cop - such an idiot that there's no believing he's intelligent enough to be out of grade school. His past romance with his now-boss lieutenant that's never satisfactorily explained or developed. Ann-Margret playing an airhead drunk? Aren't there lessor known actresses around that could play that role and let a past star retire in peace? It's another wonderfully produced movie, nice photography, all action, thin plot, cardboard characters, and not much else. If you're 14, go see it - otherwise, you're better off spending the time reading a book.
Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Enjoyable 90 minutes
After seeing the movie for the second time, I got home and read a few on-line reviews. Most of what I read indicated the reviewers didn't think much of the movie. I found it innovative from the opening credits through the after-the-final-credits epilogue. It's an enjoyable look at a dorky teen trying to make his way through his life, as improbable as his life was being played out. He was so uncool it was endearing. His little girlfriend played her part with a very realistic wide-eyed innocence. There were lots of stereotypes, but they were lightly handled and funny as a result. I was chuckling or laughing out loud throughout most of the movie, and the audience around me also seemed to be having a good time. If you think you'd enjoy an unpolished, non-special effects movie drolloped with sarcastic humor, give it a try.
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde (2003)
I love movies, but.....
I'll leave it to the other negative reviewers to give the gist of the plot failures of this horrible clunker. Nothing believable from start to finish.
The only thing that amused me throughout this ridiculously lame movie was how often the microphone came into view. What I was really waiting for was for it to hit one of the actors in the head during a dialogue! Movies are supposed to suspend you from reality and make you forget you're watching a movie, at least I thought that was a common moviemaking goal. It's hard to forget it's a movie when you're seeing a microphone descend into the shot every 3 seconds or so. One very impressive shot was when Reese was talking to the statue of Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial. The entire boom holding the microphone was framing the shot; the boom must it must have been 40 feet tall! Brilliant work, technicians!!! I'm laughing out loud as I'm writing this. In fact, the only laughs during this tuna were at the technical incompetence.
Fortunately, I saw it for free. If you can too, please count and report how many times YOU see the microphones - at least that will give you something to do while otherwise wasting 2 hours of your life.
