Outlander: Never My Love (2020)
Season 5, Episode 12

Excellent episode but not easy to watch
13 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Claire's mind flashes between her current reality and an idealized 60s with her extended family (including Murtagh Fraser, who looked great!)

But abuse of Claire by her captors is at the core of the episode which makes it extremely hard to watch, much like the episode from season 1 with Blackjack Randall and Jamie.

Brilliant acting, difficult subject. Great episode. But be warned of an extra-high level of violence.

Delightful!
24 December 2018
The Mary Poppins as played by Emily Blunt is closer to the character in the books than the Julie Andrews portrayal from the original movie. Emily is delightful, as expected. You can really get a sense of how the movie will be from the trailers.

Parents with children are likely to like the movie even more than their kids. The movie is heart-warming, emotional, and a wonderful experience overall. Strongly recommended to kids of all ages.

too long, weak story, good effects
1 July 2001
This movie was a disappointment. So much potential but poor execution. The plot has twists and turns that makes it inappropriate for children, but the plot lacks the sophistication necessary to keep it interesting to adults. I found myself checking my watch frequently during the last half.

It has all the Spielberg typicals: a big moon, aliens, a good score, and wonderful futuristic sets with delightful tiny details.

SNL skit doesn't fill time
15 October 2000
While Leon is cute on SNL, he's only on for a minute. Like most SNL skits-to-movies, this one can't fill 90 minutes. It has some cute moments (the ones you've seen in the trailer) but the actors are largely wasted. Tim Meadows does his best but the plot just doesn't have many high points. Will Farrell has a bit part. Farrell may be the funniest man alive... but not in this movie. What a shame.

Hollow Man (2000)
Special effects with a laughable plot
6 August 2000
The effects are extraordinary; the plot is dull. My son & I found ourselves laughing out loud at the "suspense" at the end: it was so predictable. In fact, all i could think of by the ending of the movie was the horror-film jokes. Tip: if you hit the bad guy in the head and he falls down, just walk away; he's probably dead and you probably won't regret it... until the next scene.

Should you go? Only if you think Kevin Bacon is great.
