Okay, not a bad movie, except for one thing!
12 January 2005
Hai everybody! I think this movie could have been a lot worse, considering all the troubles surrounding the movie. There's only one big mistake they made after the big change: they've reduced Dutch actor Antonie Kamerling his role as Lieutenant Kessel to less then 2 minutes. He originally had a much larger part. Thank God his part will be back in original state on the DVD, because he really deserves his big break! Furtermore, I would like to point out to you all that Harlin is a brilliant director! He had to put all the missing pieces back together again, and I can image that is not an easy thing to do. I like the smaller parts more then the bigger parts, simply because the act better in the smaller, supporting roles.

ALF (1986–1990)
Sarcasm rules the world here!
6 January 2004
ALF currently reruns on our Dutch channel NET5, every weekday from 16:30 till 17:00 hours. It's not the first time it reruns of course, but they've just started, because they're broadcasting the first few episodes now. I must say, the funniest thing about the show is the interaction between ALF and Willie. The fact that ALF acts like the place is his, and not from the Tanners. I also like the Ochmoneks, and that they don't know anything about ALF's presence. All together it's just a good, steady show, with actors who barely do any movies or TV-series nowadays, and that's a real shame.

'Allo 'Allo! (1982–1992)

Not outstanding, but somehow catchy
6 January 2004
'Allo 'Allo! currently reruns on our Dutch channel RTL7, every weekday from 19:30 till 20:00 hours, right after M*A*S*H. Although this is not the first time the show reruns here, and I've seen it all before, I'm still watching it again. I don't even think it's that good, but it has something unique. I can't really lay my hand on it, but it's very brilliant. The characters are a bit corny, but I think that's the funniest thing about the show: we expect them to be corny, and they are. Herr Flick most be the funniest character in the show, and most people remember him best I guess. And of course the two British airmen, where practically the whole show is about. All foreign movies or TV-series are subtitled in Dutch, with the original language spoken. And that makes it all far more original, including 'Allo 'Allo!

Chaotic, but realistic
21 December 2003
Over here in Holland the show is currently rerunning on RTL5, 5 days a week. We've just had the great episode "Grace Under Pressure", so we've just lost Sgt. Phil Esterhaus (played by Michael Conrad, who died in real life as well). It was the best so far. I'm very sorry to found out about the deaths of Kiel Martin, René Enríquez and Trinidad Silva. Whenever I watch the show, I really get into it. My favorite character is Belker, but I also like Furillo and Goldblume. Also I was really impressed by the fact the Dominique Dunne's wounds we're real, while she played the role of the mother who abandoned her baby. I don't have anything more to tell, but I will always love this show for it's realistic content. And I just love the scenes in the station house. They're chaotic, with lots of people moving around. It couldn't have been more realistic.

Highlander (1986)

It's a kind of magic, my dear!
8 March 2001
When I watched this movie a few years ago, I was stunned. Surely, about the film, but even more about the music. So I started to find from which band the music was from. I wasn't surprised that it was all Queen. Since then, I was a Queen-fan, and bought a lot of their CD's.

But especially the songs in this movie are GREAT! Who wants to live forever is of course very emotional, A Kind Of Magic will never die and Princes Of The Universe must be one of Queens greatest hits ever.

I mourned about Freddie's dead in November 1991, but I also think it gave the entire Queen catalogue a new impulse, and this Highlander-project is part of that.

Why do I talk about the music so much? Hey, I'm just a musical prostitute, my dear...

Don't take a dive in the canals of Amsterdam!
29 March 2000
I've met Wim Zomer(who plays John in the movie), and he told us about making this movie. It took them about six weeks, during the summer of 1987. His visit was the reason of me watching the movie, and after I did, I was convinced that this is a very good movie, no question about that. It has the stunts of Flodder(like the scene with the two boats chasing each other in the canals), and it also knows good actors, like Huub Stapel,Monique van de Ven and of course Wim Zomer and Hidde Maas. Dick Maas made a very good movie, as he usually does. Examples are Flodder, De Lift and Do not disturb. Quite good!

Very well made, and also one of the best horror-TV-movies
26 January 2000
Stephen King's IT isn't really similar to his book that he wrote in 1985 and published in '86, but that doesn't makes the movie less good. The makers of this movie rewrote the script very well into a successful movie, with actors as Tim Curry and Richard Thomas. The movie might be a big long, but the book wasn't too thin either; I've read the book and it contains 943 pages! The story knows two sides: one in the past, and one in our time. This is probably the cause of the long story. And of course the fact that you have actually seven heroes, each with their own lives. This is very good for the story of the movie, and makes the movie complete. Well done!

M*A*S*H: Goodbye, Farewell and Amen (1983)

Everything ends, even MASH
25 January 2000
As you can read in my one line summary: everything ends, even MASH. The series ran almost four times longer than the actual Korean war, and there were made several movies and series(For example, ''After MASH''), most of the time with the same cast as in the series that ran from 1972 til 1983. But there is one question rising in my head. The last episode of the series had the same title as this TV-movie, so the series were actually already concluded, so why make this TV-movie? The answer is very simple: because the series deserved to be concluded with this amazing TV-movie!

The movie had a very good script!
25 January 2000
The eagle has landed knows a very good script, and also very great actors like Michael Caine, Donald Sutherland and Robert Duvall. There's also a role in the movie for Dallas-star Larry Hagman. Especially the trick in the end with Winston Churchill was a strong point in the movie. All in all I very much liked the movie.

The most funny and best Bond-movie ever made!
23 January 2000
Live and let die was a very special Bond-movie, due to the introduction of the best Bond-actor so far, Roger Moore. He gave the character Bond a very special image; Bond became actually funny with Roger Moore. The introduction of sheriff J.W.Pepper(Clifton James) was also a very good move. It gave the movie a very funny twist. Too bad he only played in two Bond-movies. The only thing I dislike of the film is the missing of Desmond Llewelyn(Q), who died last year in a car-crash, my opinion is, that you can't make a good Bond-movie without Q and his gadgets. Jane Seymour also acted very good, for her first great role, that is. All in all was Live and let die a very good and funny Bond-movie!

The series are about the way of living in a hospital during the Korean war
20 January 2000
Wonderful show, especially Alan Alda was a very good actor and director. Alda really got himself going in his role; very good! This also goes for Mike Farrell and Harry Morgan. It was and is a pity the series stopped in 1983, after eleven seasons! The mix of comedy, black humor and drama is splendid! I've got a few favourite episodes: the pilot, the one with Henry and Trapper leaving and B.J. and Potter coming, the one with Burns leaving and Winchester coming, the one with Radar leaving and the last episode. Dutch network RTL7 is currently rerunning MASH again and I'm still a loyal watcher. Somehow you never get bored with MASH, but I've never seen After MASH or any of the other spin-offs. I would like to see them though.
