Dao (1995)
The Blade is The Best
The Blade is The Best movie ever, I don't care about anyones arguments, this film is the best movie ever.
From the beautiful photography to the highly original score and extremely high octane sword battles, this film comprehensively kicks every movies arse.
The Thin Red Line (1998)
better than Apocalypse Now
The Thin Red Line is Terrence Mallick's return after a twenty year absence to film making. The acting was one of the best things about the film, a superb performance by Jim Caviezel and Ben Chaplin. Nick Nolte was out standing, and it's a pity not one of these men was given a nomination at the Oscars. In fact the film was snubbed at last weeks ceremony, and should have easily won best adapted screenplay. I'll give it ten out of ten because it was the best film of the year.
Kundun (1997)
Why didn't this film get everything it deserved.
This film was the best film of the year. From art direction to cinematography to directing.
It doesn't matter if this film didn't recieve all the awards it deserved, and Titanic got all the awards it didn't deserve, in twenty years time Kundun will be recognised as one of the top ten films ever produced in motion picture history.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
The best visual effects ever
The best visual effects ever, but the rest, really, really, really S#@t. I can understand why people like this movie because there's plenty of action visual effects and killing, but that doesn't make a movie good.
This movie has no directional talent, no acting ability, shocking script and too many butch women. The same goes for The Matrix, stunning visual effects but one hell of a bad movie. But unfortunately, that's the way it is. People don't want to see Casablanca, Gone With The Wind and Citizen Kane anymore, they want Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
My score -- 2 out of 10
The Matrix (1999)
the best visual effects ever
This movie has the best visual effects ever seen to date, better than Episode 1's effects. The only problem is though, this movie really is bad.
Every one has been walking around saying, that this movie is the best ever, because it has awesome fight scenes, awesome slow mo and awesome visual effects.
They never say the acting is fantastic, they never say the direction is good, and no one ever talks about the screenplay, because it's all so dodgy.
I have to hand it to the Wachowski brothers and the special visual effects team, for coming up with the idea of bullet time photography, it looks spectacular.
DO waste two hours and fifteen minutes of your life to see five different bullet time photography shots. Don't expect too much from the acting.
