Liquid Sky (1982)
Different
3 November 1999
I saw this film in the Village (New York City) when I was a teenager. Some people would get caught in that the special effects were very weak but the colors were fascinating. The music was the underground kind which need some getting used to and the characters were very strange if you had no contact with the city in the very early '80s. The story was interesting but the acting was weak. It's an ART HOUSE film. I enjoyed it for what it was, a trip.

Better with constant viewing

I never tire of this movie. I want it on DVD because the VHS copy I made off the TV is dead. Very romantic. I think this is the first time I ever really looked at Marc Singer. He has a great deal of energy encased in a calm exterior. Ms. Wagner didn't do too bad either.

Beautiful but strange

My idea of the romantic gesture has changed over the years but this film is in a class of its own. I guess I'm not the impulsive type but I love watching people who are. Most times I don't know what to think about this movie but it just pops up in my conscience from time to time. I also believe the sound of running water is one of the great pleasures of living.

Nightbreed (1990)
I love this movie

I can't explain why I love this movie. The masked killer is very disturbing to me just as seeing anyone wrongly accused of such sick actions but the new life/death of the hero is so bloody interesting that I forget the method of his arriving with the nightbreed. This movie should be on DVD with equal showing of the making of the film. The nightbreed make-up is fascinating.

Most women would find it FUN!

I admit it, I like looking at Richard. You get a lot of him in this movie. I also love Science Fiction and cats. I wouldn't change a thing. Sometimes you just have to sit and relax and be the voyeur. This is a little movie that went straight to video but it gives you more than the standard B.

Amphibian Man (1961)

One of the best

I also saw this movie as a kid on late night TV. I never forgot it and would love to see it on DVD. I think it was the first time I fell in love. The leading man/fish is one of the most beautiful and sweet characters I had ever seen.

The Matrix (1999)
Good movie but could have been better

I'm not going to talk about the FX or the acting, what bothers me is that man would kill every living thing on the planet because he was no longer number one on the food chain. To take out the sun in order to stop the AI's is the sort of spoil-sport action man would take. I felt little concern for the small band of heroes. Like one of them said "I should have taken the blue pill and stayed stupid". I hope the second movie goes into the ramifications of informing the sleeping masses without having a way to feed or house them.

The Taming of the Shrew (1976 TV Movie)
10/10
The best Taming I have ever seen

This is one of my favorite Shakespeare stories and this is by far the best showing. It was all action, energy, fast and fun. No sets, just a stage and tons of talent. I kick myself when to think I could have made a VHS copy and didn't. I want this on DVD.

Lots of Atmosphere
4 May 1999
I saw this movie on late night TV as a teenager. It scared myself and my younger brother so much we never made it to the end. About 20 years later I caught it on TV again and though It didn't have the same impact, I could still see what made it so frightening to me back then. Atmosphere.
