Delta Force 3 is your typical mindless action fest that you usually get stuck watching at 3:00 am on HBO when you can't seem to sleep and there's nothing on regular tv but news, infomercials and endless loops of Sportscenter. With this movie unless it's a real good case of insomnia your problems will soon be over...because for an action movie its pretty boring and the acting isn't anything to write home about either. Not to say it's horrible, it's really not bad...it's just not good either. It's one of those movies you watch and then you just kind of forget it eventually because it wasn't very memorable. I will say this about it though they did use a creative way to get the bomb in a tv studio.That was about the only memorable event in the whole movie.

Nightmares

Mediocre film but a sentimental favorite

Nightmares certainly won't give you nightmares today! My favorite segment was the second one, the one with Emilio Esteves battling the video game. I think that story of the film captures the feeling of the early part of the eighties very well. My second favorite segment was the third one with Lance Henriksen battling the truck from hell. Personally I'd say the first and last episodes are the weakest parts of the movie. I like Nightmares though mostly for personal reasons not neccesarily quality reasons. I was 13 when it came out and it was one of the very first movies I ever rented. It's sometimes hard for me to believe that 1983 was really 16 years ago but watching this movie which looks so dated today now makes it easier to believe!

Truly a classic "guy" movie.

This movie spawned countless imitators but this is still one of the best of the genre. What impresses me about it was the fact that for the most part it was all believable and realistic. It didn't have people running around shooting guns with endless supplies of ammo and the hero taking on dozens of men at once and never getting shot like Arnie did in Commando. Stallone was excellent as was Brian Dennehy as the sheriff with an attitude.I'd say this was one of the most influential movies as a whole in the early eighies. To this day when someone is talking about a soldier or a wannabe soldier he says "he's a rambo type" or "he's a rambo wannabe". I think it manages to look remarkably contemporary considering it is now a 17 year old movie!
