A bank robbery, a comedy, a love story
6 January 2014
If you liked Ocean's Eleven or Inside Man (2006), you'll love this movie.

The director said that this is a Caper Movie, and he wanted to follow the rules of that type of movies. And he did it. There's robbery, fraud, betrayal, gunshots.

This is a movie that will never win an award in the Cannes Film Festival, but you'll enjoy it.

Great actors playing great roles. Every character has a strong personality.

Road scenes have a beautiful background. As it was shoot in Mendoza, there are the Andes, the biggest mountains in South America.

An attempt to make a good thriller
19 July 2003
Just a matter of movies genres. You can say that this is a "popcorn thriller". At least in Argentina, the movie was taking to the theatres with a huge advertising campaign based on Pablo Echarri, almost the only argentinian in the whole movie. Of course, that makes a box office success, and some spectators disappointed as they didn't know anything about the plot. To be objective, it's a good movie. It won't make history, but there is a increasing suspense, there's a murder and no one can figure out who is. If you love "Halloween", or "I know what you did last summer", maybe this is the movie for you. But don't expect a special appearance of Freddie Krueger or Jason. Just regular people, a mystery, some deaths and a huge package of popcorn to enjoy "No debes estar aqui".

Cóndor Crux (2000)
A South American attempt to do Titan A.E.
12 June 2003
There are a lot of coincidences between Cóndor Crux and Titan A.E. You can see a mix of 2D and 3D animation. There is a future society with spaceships used as cars. Some local rock stars were included in the soundtrack. It's not intended for kids, but they can enjoy it. There's some kind of romance for the "good guy". Besides that, there's the "argentinian touch". You can see that everything in the movie is made by and made for argentine people. There are lots of details put there only for someone who knows Buenos Aires. If you've never been there, you can enjoy the movie, but if you see the futuristic buildings, you can recognize ever little detail from today's city. Good music, some action, a really bad guy, a hero, a lady and some kind of epic story. That's what Cóndor Crux is.

3rd Rock from the Sun (1996–2001)
Pure comedy
23 January 2003
It's comedy. What more? Great characters. Great performances from everyone. You must see the way they get in touch with a new planet where everything is new. They are like children discovering a new place. Even the simplest things are strange to them. John Lithgow (Dick) keeps the lead beginning to experiment love (and sex). Kristen Johnston (Sally) seems to be changed by her new woman body (in alien planet she is not a woman). French Stewart (Harry) is the dumbest alien in history, but he is the communication device whit "The Big Giant Head", master at their planet. Don't expect X-Files nor Roswell. This is absurd humor and maybe one of the best.

An argentinian Woodstock.
14 January 2002
Since mid 70's, a military government banned most of rock songs in Argentina. Rock was the only way of telling what was happening. When the 80's began, democracy came back to the country. But, before that, a debilitated government allow a big concert a-la Woodstock, but without that magic. There was made in a stadium transformed in a rock place. This movie is a sequence of the four weekends that made that show. There's music from the beginning to the end. Some interviews with the musicians and the crowd complete an historic event. If the concert had been done in these days, there would not be a film, but a TV special.

Flop (1990)
History of a showman
7 January 2002
The film is the full story of Florencio Parravicini, one of the greatest comedy actors in the 20th century's first half. He also was a shooter, a dancer and a varieté showman. The movie begins at Flop's birth and we can see the boy growing and living some experiences that make him embrace his vocation. Then, he obtains the fame and he enjoys it, although everything is not joy in its life. The story is driven in a unique style with sarcasm and transgression.

Dead Last (2001)
One series for ghosts and comedy fans
5 January 2002
Dead Last is a TV series that mixes ghosts, comedy and rock in a fascinating way. The rock band "The Problem" is on tour and the three members always are solving ghosts' problems. But the missions are sometimes funny, sometimes thrilling, and sometimes a real drama. In an hour they have enough things to do to make this a really exciting show. It's remarkable the performance by Sara Downing. She plays a rock girl, sexy, with brain and also she seems to need some love, but none of the members of the band would fill that need.

ReBoot (1994–2001)
32 years old and got impressed
6 July 1999
We only saw Seasons 2 and 3 of ReBoot in Argentina, but it's enough to really love the show. The boys from Canada really know how to work on a Silicon Graphics Workstation. The story is original. The inner world inside a computer connected to the web is something new. All of you should have some computer knowledge to understand some jokes and the well-chosen names for everything in Mainframe. As a developer -and computer fan- I'm still shocked with such a big story.
