The Blair Witch Project (1999)
Don't believe the hype
While this movie may not have been the worst movie I've ever seen, it was a huge disappointment. Having been billed as the scariest film since exorcist, I was really anticipating this flick. I'm also a big indie movie fan, and therefor I waited in line on opening night (pre-wide release) to see it. Damn, what a waste. This movie is not scary, creepy, or anything resembling a horror film. The film really begins to drag when you realize that each passing day is virtually the same as the last. A wonderful premise, but horrible execution. It's a shame too, a real shame.
Shadow Conspiracy (1997)
Almost a B-movie
This movie is filled with so many idiotic moments, that you wonder how it ever got made. For example, they get into the sewers from the Capitol and while they're in the sewers you can see signs pointing to various government buildings, and then they come up in the middle of the street! I highly doubt that government buildings would provide public access through the city sewer system. Anyways, I gave this a 2 instead of a 1 just because of its comic value. I laughed the whole way through at the idiocy of everyone involved in this movie.
The Saint (1997)
Quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen
Honest to god, this movie was probably the worst I've ever seen. One ridiculous scene after another. An incredible disappointment. Not only does Elizabeth Shue figure out cold fusion in like twenty minutes (something that has puzzled scientists for the better half of a century), but that's the basis for the movie. Right away it has no chance. And then the scene where Kilmer jumps in the freezing river, and the ensuing "warming-up" by Shue, is so ludicrous its comical. My favorite is the end though. When she's running to the embassy, and yells "Open up, I'm an American!" and they happily obey. Mind numbing stupidity.
