Excellent.
27 February 2001
Probably the best tv-movie I've seen to date.

The movie starts out pretty corny. The opening moments annoyed me a lot. But once the story got going, I just couldn't take my eyes off it. And then came Judy Davis. She was just dynamite. She caught the whole essence of Judy Garland.

Astonishing second half makes up for the so-so first half.

10/10!!!

The Matrix (1999)

This really, really sucks.
24 February 2001
Anyone with half of a brain could see right through this mainstream Hollywood garbage.

The effects are not "spectacular" (they are loud, annoying, and overblown) the acting isn't "great" (It sucks).

It's kind of like Bill & Ted's Adventures Through an Alternate Reality.

Most of the "serious dramatic scenes" were laughable. I am outraged that this is number 38 on the all-time 250!!! It should be in the bottom 100.

It's talk, talk, talk, with something remotely resembling an action sequence popping up on the screen every 30 minutes. It looks like a crazed computer ate up a roll of film and spat it back out.

You are WAY, WAY, WAY better off watching the GREAT movies like Citizen Kane or City Lights or Superman: The Movie!!

I give it a 0 out of 10, it's a BOMB!!!

But, I'm sure the over-crazed Matrix fans will have some lame excuses for all the movie's shortcomings.

Harlow (I) (1965)

Not the worst film I've seen, but nothing special.
10 February 2001
In 1965 two big screen duds trying to capture the life and times of Jean Harlow hit the screen.

Carroll Baker is miscast as Harlow. She doesn't look a thing like her. Another problem is all the inaccuracies. Maybe if the filmmakers actually had actually put some thought into instead of trying to make money, it possibly could've been good.

The recreations of early Hollywood are mostly terrible. People walk in 1930s shoes and clothes and some even wear 1960s haircuts.

Don't waste your time with this trash.

My rating: 1/10 stars

Not entirely bad.

I saw this on TV not too long ago. Not very bad. Sure the cast and plot sucked, but it looked great and had some fiery effects. The animals were pretty cool too.

See it alone for some unintentional laughs.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!
7 August 2000
This movie nearly drove me to insanity it was so bad! This isn't even one of those movies where it's so bad it's funny! Really, it's a lethal weapon. It gave me a pounding headache. But really, what else could you expect from Jerry Bruckheimer. He has absolutely no respect for human life at all! He's the guy who brought us Armageddon and Gone in Sixty Seconds, Con Air, and countless other B-movies.

Avoid at all costs. I walked out after 50 minutes!

Ed, Edd n Eddy (1999–2008)
One of the five worst shows on TV!
23 June 2000
Ed, Edd, and Eddy is absolutely, positively the worst show on Cartoon Network. It's even worse than all that Japanimation they show. This is so bad I don't even want to waste time telling you how bad it is. Just watch three seconds of it and you'll agree. Go watch a good show on the Cartoon Network like The Powerpuff Girls, or Tom and Jerry, or Dexter's Lab.

Please, don't watch this horrible, horrible show!

Batman (1943)

Great Serial
18 June 2000
I know that it's a Columbia, but it is one of Columbia's best. Lewis Wilson and Douglas Croft are the definitive Batman and Robin. The story is great, the acting is great, the casting was great, and the photography was great. There are also some great fighting sequences and awesome cliffhangers.

Dr. Tito Daka is a classic villain. Daka was Japanese (He prefers to be called Nipponese) and was probably hated very much because remember, this serial was made during WW2.

The Batcave was pretty cool. I like it how Batman and Robin were taken directly to the scene of the crime by Alfred. There was no Batmobile.

I recommend this serial to anyone.

A Classic Adventure
24 May 2000
Superman and the Mole Men is quite possibly Superman's toughest adventures ever.

Lois Lane and Clark Kent are sent to Silsby, home of the world's deepest oil well. While there, some radioactive mole men come up through the oil well and explore the town. Jeff Corey and many other townspeople try to dispose of the invading mole men. Can Superman change the people's ways in time to save the mole men? Can Superman warn the people in time about the radioactive danger the mole men bring?

In my opinion, Superman and the Mole Men is a very intelligent, well-written and well-acted movie. Even though we only get to see Superman fly once briefly, It still makes a great Superman adventure. A must see for anyone.

GREAT!!!!!
24 April 2000
There are few sequels that are ever as good as the original. This is one of them. The only real difference between the two is that the special effects in this one are better. The story leaps right into the action, with the city of Metropolis being hit by a crime wave. One man is behind all this crime, the evil Lex Luthor. Superman battles Lex Luthor and his alter ego the Atom Man through 15 fun and exciting chapters.

Superman does a lot in this serial. Can he save Metropolis from a deadly flood? Can Superman escape the Empty Doom? Will Superman's real identity be released to the public? Will Lois Lane go to work for the Lex Luthor? Find out this and more in ATOM MAN VS. SUPERMAN

I give it 10/10. It's perfect.

(Note: Look at the close-up shots of Kirk Alyn flying as Superman. The 'S' on the Superman uniform is backwards.)

Superman (1948)
THE BEST SERIAL EVER MADE
18 March 2000
Superman, the 15-chapter serial, is the best of it's kind. Kirk Alyn is excellent as Superman/Clark Kent, Noel Neill is the best Lois Lane ever to hit the screen, Carol Forman makes Spider Lady one of the most hated serial villains of all time!

Some say that the animation is terrible, but I'd prefer it over using real people. The special effects are very amusing, and Mischa Bakaleinikoff's musical score fits the themes of the movie perfectly.

The story goes like this, Jor-El is the only scientist who knows that the planet Krypton is going to explode. He builds a rocket and sends his son far off to the planet earth before the doomed planet explodes. Clark grows up and moves to Metropolis, where he becomes better known as Superman. As Superman he fights for "Truth, Justice, and Tolerance", but the evil Spider Lady plans to destroy everything he represents.

I give it 10/10 Stars

Supergirl (1984)

Very Enjoyable
16 January 2000
Although many critics disliked it when it came out, I found Supergirl to be a very enjoyable movie. Helen Slater is a Superbabe; she is perfect as Supergirl. The musical score is very good, but not as good as John William's score for Superman.

Here is the story; Zaltar 'borrows' an Omegahedron, one of the main power sources of Argo City. The Omegahedron is accidentally lost in space and Kara (Supergirl) goes to earth to find it. The Omegahedron lands in the hands of a witch named Selina. Plenty of action, a decent plot, good performances, and awesome special effects make this movie very entertaining. Helen Slater is great and great-looking as Supergirl/Kara/Linda Lee.

I give it 7/10 stars.

TERRIBLE SEQUEL!
1 January 2000
The third installment in the Batman series trashes everything Batman had been up until then. Everything is different. The Batmobile looks totally different and totally bad. The Batcave's renovations were for the worse. The only reason it was made was to give an out-of-work commedianne a job (Jim Carrey).

In this sequel Batman teams up with Robin and they fight Two-Face and the Riddler. A bunch of other stuff happens but I don't care about it I am too disappointed with this film.

Why was comedy such and important element in this film? The comedy isn't even funny. It isn't as bad as Batman & Robin.

2/10 stars

(THIS MOVIE IS SO MUCH LIKE THE THIRD INSTALLMENT IN THE SUPERMAN SERIES IT IS SCARY!)

easily better than the original
1 January 2000
The second installment into the Batman series is better than the first. The plot is great and so is the acting. What makes this better than the original is that it lightens up a bit. It has more comedy here and there and Bruce Wayne isn't as bitten by revenge.

The story goes like this: The Penguin and Catwoman team up to try and destroy Batman. The Pengiun becomes mayor and makes Batman hated. Meanwhile, Selina Kyle (Catwoman) develops a relationship with Bruce Wayne (Batman).

Not as bad as you'd think
1 January 2000
The first movie in the 'Batman' movie series didn't exactly hit home. First of all, the movie is too dark and unfriendly looking. The plot isn't that interesting but there is great acting and a lot of action. However, the film does seem to lag on and on. Not a kiddie movie like you may think.

The story is about a rich guy named Bruce Wayne who is out to kill the guy who killed his parents (the Joker). In the meantime he has sort of a relationship with a reporter named Vicki Vale.

5/10 stars

(If you are wanting to watch a good Superhero movie with lots of action and a great story, watch SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE (1978), or SUPERMAN II (1980).)

A Good Sequel
26 December 1999
This sequel is the third best in the series of four movies. Great performances, special effects, and a good story make this film a must-see for Superman fans, and movie fans.

The story is about Superman's quest for peace. He rids the world of nuclear weapons to do so. Lex Luthor creates a Nuclear Man to destroy world and so he can rule the world. Meanwhile, Warfield Industries buy the Daily Planet and turn it into one of David Warfield's tabloid papers. Will the Daily Planet regain its title as Metropolis's leading newspaper? Will Superman defeat the evil Nuclear Man? Find out in this action-packed Super adventure.

I give it 8/10 stars.

Decent Superman Sequel
26 December 1999
Although this is not as good as the first two or the last Superman movies, it isn't as bad as you'd excpect.

The story is about a computer genius named Gus Gorman (Richard Pryor). He and Ross Webster (Robert Vaughn) use computers to take over the world. In the process, Ross has Gus make some kryptonite to destroy Superman. There is a missing element in the kryptonite. The synthetic kryptonite turns Superman in two:

Good Clark Kent and Bad Superman.

There are great special effects and a good plot that make this movie a decent installment in the Superman series.

I give it 7/10 Stars

A Great Sequel
26 December 1999
Of the three sequels following the superior Superman (1978) this is the best. Great special effects, an awesome plot, and the acting is Oscar-worthy.

In this sequel, the three villains who were cast into the Phantom Zone escape and go to earth. Meanwhile, Superman wants to live his life with a mortal. In order to do this he has his powers taken away. Will Superman regain his powers in time to save the world from General Zod, Ursa, Non, and Lex Luthor?

The second best of the Superman series starring Christopher Reeve is grandly entertaining.

I give it 10/10 stars.

Superman (1978)
Dynamic and Grandly Entertaining
26 December 1999
Of the four Superman movies this was the best of the bunch. This movie tells the classic story of Superman. From his three year voyage to earth from Krypton up to his battle with Lex Luthor. This action-packed adventure won a much-deserved Oscar for Special Effects. Marlon Brando, Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, Glenn Ford, Margot Kidder and the rest of the cast deliver great performances. John Williams composes the best musical score I have ever heard. In my 100 favorite movies this is #8.

I give it 10/10 stars.

not that bad
20 November 1999
Superman IV: The Quest for Peace may not be as good as the first two Superman movies, but it is still pretty decent. The acting is okay, the plot is followable, but the special effects are pretty bad.

I give Superman (1978) **** Superman II (1980) ***1/2 Superman III (1983) *1/2 Superman IV (1987) **1/2

THE ULTIMATE TRIP --- THE ULTIMATE MOVIE
1 November 1999
I am surprised to see all of the negative comments on here. This movie is a masterpiece. Five years in the making, $10.5 million 1960's dollars!

The people who say that it is 'boring' are probably some immature teenagers who think that STAR WARS or STAR TREK can not be beaten. They think that the only sci-fi is a bunch of aliens invading earth, or people on a flying spaceship trying to save earth or explore other worlds.

2001: A Space Odyssey is true sci-fi. Nothing comes close. I do not care what anybody says, it is simply the best movie ever made.

It is extremely influential and highly-entertaining.

Two Words People: IT SUCKED!
23 September 1999
ONE OF THE CRAPPIEST MOVIES EVER MADE. SPECIAL EFFECTS WERE VERY IMPRESSIVE. BUT THERE ARE 5 MAIN THINGS THAT MAKE THIS FILM DESPISABLE:

(1). It downright Sucks

(2). That child actor (I've begged Hollywood not to put any more in movies or tv shows anymore)

(3). Jar Jar Binks (I don't think there is much more to say)

(4). The Plot (What plot?)

(5). The Acting (There was acting in this movie? I thought it was narrated.)

I must say, 2001: A Space Odyssey is a lot better than this pile of horse *&$@. But it was a little more enjoyable than Wild Wild West.

ARGUABLY THE BEST MOVIE EVER
20 September 1999
How could anyone place any other science fiction movie above this one. 2001: A Space Odyssey set the stage for most sci-fi films after it. Star Wars sucks compared to this. It won a much deserved Academy Award for Special Effects.

In AFI's 100 Best Movies Ever it holds a spot at #22. On the IMBd Top 250 it is at 43. It should be a lot higher than that!

I love this film, I hate Star Wars. Star Wars is Evil. I want to hurt Star Wars. Star Wars should be at the bottom 100 movies ever made. Especially Episode 1.
