Alice Cooper: Video Trash (1990 Music Video)

Not a bad collection of videos from Alice Cooper's 1990 Trash album. This short tape contains music videos from the songs "Poison," "House of Fire," and "Bed of Nails." (What? It doesn't include "Only My Heart's Talkin'"?!). It's a descent collection for the Alice Cooper completist, but of little use to anyone else.

Assignment Terror (1970)

The video doesn't do the movie justice.

I first saw this movie on t.v. almost 20 years ago as Assignment Terror, and was excited when it first came out on video. Unfortunately, the video cut about 9 minutes of total running time from the film, retitled it as Dracula Vs. Frankenstein and left it as a jumbled, incoherent mess. Most fans will also be confused because Dracula and the Monster never fight in the entire film.

I'm not saying this was a great film to begin with, but some of the editing complaints seen in earlier reviews come from the video version, not the original release. In its original form it was a strange yet fun action/horror movie in Paul Naschy's Werewolf Waldemar series. Naschy also plays the Vampire (Count de Mierhoff), Mummy (Tao-Tet) and Franksollen monster whenever possible.

Michael Rennie is one highlight, and gives his best possible attempt at making a profound statement in his last speech in the film. I'm surprised they even left that in, since most of what they took out was the plot. Apparently the video production figured no one pays attention to plot in a movie like this anyway. And yes, that's the same Karin Dor who appeared in Hitchcock's Topaz in the same year.

Hopefully, when this comes out on DVD they'll get it right.

Unplugged: Jimmy Page & Robert Plant: Un-Led-ed (1994) Season 5, Episode 9

Plant and Page return for one more album

Despite making a media blitz about their return and both Robert Plant and Jimmy Page coming off excellent albums with "Fate of Nations" "Coverdale Page" respectively, this reunion was not what it could have been. Maybe it was the lack of John Paul Jones, I don't know, but while the concert is good in mixing new and different sounds with the Egyptian orchestra they play with, the concert still doesn't live up to Led Zeppelin's high standards. Still it is worth a listen and a viewing, but don't put your expectations too high.

Godzilla 2000 (1999)

Warning! This movie is for die hard Godzilla fans ONLY!

It's always nice to be able to see Godzilla on the big screen again, whether it's that overproduced Americanized version or a good old fashioned overdubbed Japanese version. However, I have to warn people, this movie does get pretty campy, sometimes even too campy for me, and saying something. But overall I liked it and would say it was a lot better than that Americanized version. The only real problems I had were that they never explained how Godzilla survived his nuclear meltdown from his last picture. I had heard this was supposed to start the big green afresh again, but in the movie it was a given that he'd been around a while. They also over used the chroma-key special effects. I gave the movie an 8 because, like I said, I liked it, but Godzilla has done better.

Aerosmith: Permanent Vacation 3x5 (1988 Video)

This video contains the three music videos from the band's "Permanent Vacation" album, plus footage of the making of those videos to the music of the album's title track and "Hangman Jury." It's excellent for Aerosmith fans who remember that great album.

This video REALLY rocks!

If you like old Aerosmith, then you'll love this video from a 1978 concert at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX. They play all of the old classics that made them America's greatest rock band. The recording is excellent and some of the crowd shots are fantastic as the band headlined a 15 hour show in front of over 100,000 people.

A rare and uncensored look at Aerosmith.

This is one cool video! It contains footage from several Aerosmith concerts, both old and new. It also contains rare footage of the band backstage, traveling and goofing off. It even contains a VERY rare look at the videos for "Chiquita" from 1979 and "Lightning Strikes" from 1982, while the band was actually broken up!

Aerosmith: The Making of Pump (1990 Video)

Anyone who's interested in the music business should see this video!

This movie provides an interesting look into the recording process, from the creative process to the final album release. This video follows Aerosmith through every step of the recording of their famous "PUMP" album. It's sort of their answer to Madonna's "Truth or Dare," but instead of following an artist on a tour, it follows them through the recording studios.

Abbott and Costello Meet Jerry Seinfeld (1994 TV Movie)

Jerry Seinfeld, Abbott & Costello, what more can you say?

In this one hour special, Jerry Seinfeld announces that the biggest inspiration for his own "Seinfeld" show was the old Abbott & Costello Show from the 50s. He looks at both hilarious shows in segments, and makes comparisons to some of the characters on each show, the most obvious being a comparison between Lou and George. If this thing ever airs again, or if it ever comes out on video, i would highly recommend viewing it if you like either Seinfeld of Abbott & Costello, or both.

House of Dracula (1945)

One "funnest" horror movies of all time (not necessarily the best, but funnest)

Despite all of the comparisons to House of Frankenstein, this movie outshines its predecessor and is one of the funnest monster movies in the Universal Monsters series, and sadly, the last. O.k. so it doesn't exactly stack up to something like the Bride of Frankenstein as one a classic to revered by fans of all movies, but with a cast of Dracula, The Wolf Man and Frankenstein's monster (What? no mummy?) you can't help but enjoy this schlock fest! And unlike House of Frankenstein, the monsters in this movie interact a lot more. But this movie also offers some unique story lines for both Dracula and the Wolf Man who both go to Dr. Adleman for cures of their afflictions. While the Wolf Man actually does find a cure, Dracula injects his blood into the doctor and that's when the real fun begins! I highly recommend this movie to fans of classic horror movies. But remember, I never said it was good, just fun.
