Arlington Road (1999)
This is not as good as you think
I'm ashamed that I payed money to watch a bad remake of the 1974 film "the Parallax View." The original was directed by Alan J. Pakula and should be referenced to whenever anyone talks of "Arlington Road."
The Arlington Road ending was a bit too unbelievable. Although, I realize that ignorant people like this type of ending, they should know that it has a higher potential, such as, "The Game" or "the Parallax View." In fact, the only good thing that I thought should be noticed is some of the sound work on the film. There's a scene in which Faraday (Bridges) and his girlfriend (Davis) are talking to the Langs (Robbins)(Cusack) . The director chose to use an effect that went from conversation to conversation using fades. It's really well done. It's too bad not everything else was.
Basquiat (1996)
Great Films
Once in a while a movie is perfectly acted; this is one of them. David Bowie does the best Andy Warhol ever captured on film. The film in itself is a work of art, as much as Basquiat was himself. I'm unaware of how factual the film is, but I'm guessing it's not too false. It's a near perfect film and that's why I give it a solid nine.
