Daddy and Them (2001)
I read to escape.
I'd never even heard of this project before, but it caught my eye on the shelf and, being a Billy Bob fan, I conned my fiance into renting it with me. I think I liked it a little more than he did. This movie is worth the watch alone simply to hear Andy Griffith utter the word "cornholed". Hee hee hee. The script is fantastic.
Alex & Emma (2003)
Yawn.....
I should have walked out like several other people did. Why, oh why, did I sit through the whole thing? I truly expected better role choices from these two main actors. There didn't seem to be any believable connection between Wilson and Hudson either. Don't even bother with this one as a rental.
O.C. and Stiggs (1985)
Schwabian Greatness
This is one of my all-time favorite Altman movies. Even though I was too young to have ever seen the O.C. & Stiggs saga in National Lampoon, I've been through two VHS copies of the movie. Dare I even hope that one day it might be available on DVD? I think hell would have to freeze over first. I had the chance to meet Daniel Jenkins about 12 years ago when he did a local production of Twelfth Night. Man, is this guy talented. I can't even remember how many different musical instruments this actor can play. I think my friend and I scared him a bit as we barraged him with ridiculous queries about O.C. & Stiggs at a question and answer session after the play. He's a teenage crush that has carried over for many, many years.
