Mister Roberts (1984)
The last live theatrical production on TV.
I am a theater buff and a "Golden Age" TV fan.
This was LIVE theater. One shot, that was it, right or wrong. It was spectacular to say the least, and as far as I know, the last truly live theatrical production on TV.
If you have an opportunity to see a video of this production I urge you to do so. It has a lot to offer.
True Crime (1999)
I loved it but I found a goof!
I loved this movie, but if you watch it, pay close attention to when Clint Eastwood goes to the murdered reporter's apartment. He sees the picture that the accused killer's daughter drew AFTER the reporter was murdered.
Go ahead...make my day.
U.S. Seals (2000)
Leonard Pinth Garnell of Saturday Night Live would say "BAD!"
Remember this movie when you go to your local Blockbuster and mark it as a "must not see". Six guys vs. all the bad guys you can imagine. I replayed parts of it just to be sure that the same villains were indeed resurrected and killed multiple times.
There's one great scene where a tank leaves the jungle and winds up in a huge city. There it proceeds to destroy all of the cars parked on the street. It's laughable because the cars were rejects from the demolition derby, and on close inspection were actually destroyed long before the tank got to town.
The heros are good though, they can kill two or three guys with one bullet and yet evade an army of hundreds with a single pistol.
I would rather be out shoveling the snow than watching this trash.
