Flight of the Conchords (2007–2009)
10/10
This show truly put Entourage to shame.
3 July 2007
Sunday night has been and still is HBO's night to shine, with great drama presented by the made in America Sopranos and its mafia tale(now its the surfer noir John From Cincinatti) and humor presented by Entourage. The Sopranos ended with a blackout and confusion and the fun that once was in Entourage is missing in its fourth season.

This show is about a band called the Flight of the Conchords its a typical fish out water scenario presented in a very unique and quirky way, the show might reminds somebody of the short lived Tenacious D (Jack Black) series that also aired on HBO, because of the band element but this show is much more low-key and is extremely funny, the New Zealand accent just killes me! And the performances in this show are great especially by the bands terrible manager hilarious. This is definitely one of the funniest things on TV right now, together with the Office and 30 Rock. If you have a twisted kind of humor (ala arrested development) you will love this show...

Las Vegas (2003–2008)
What happens in Vegas FUN !!!
27 September 2005
Las Vegas is a fun thrill ride filled with beautiful women (with breast implants), fantastic cars, money, high tech surveillance and off cause loads of money and gambling...

The strenght of the show isn't the acting but the premise. Set in Sin City it's appealing to one of the most interesting aspect of human nature the nasty side. There is plenty of sex and violence, criminals and quite frankly girls gone wild in ALL of the episodes.

The story lines are so so but the show is still a nice 50 minute break from reality. The actors in the show are all beautiful people and fun to be around. Especially Mike Cannon aka the Man is always entertaining. The fact that he could make more money as a parking valet instead of using his engineering degree in silicon Vally is a joke but a great example of the silliness of the show.

The AMAZAING Nikki Cox (think cleavage) plays Mary, the party planner! and high school sweet heart of Danny McCoy. She's sweet and even though she's a local she is the most naive of the bunch.

Josh Duhamel is Danny McCoy he seems to possess no depth but just a superficial jock. But he is Mr Right and a Bachalor for life :) Molly Sims is just annoying as Delinda Deline... DADDY !!! Vanessa Marcil as Sam Marquez the host who only care about one thing in life MONEY ! She will do anything for her "Whales" whatever it takes.

Marsha Thomason stars as Nessa Holt the kind of half sister to Delinda but for some reason she speaks with a British accent ??? another mystery of this show since she have been in the Deline family since she was 10 or something like that ??? James Caen is without a doubt the best of the actors but he is totally mailing it in but doesn't seem to care.

Gueststars mostly popular music acts like snoop dogg and the black eyed peas frequently visit the show to promote their new albums...

I hate to admit it but I really like this show its in my top 5.

Here on Earth (2000)
Why not on Mars???
30 May 2000
Set in a small town, an out-of-town boy (Chris Klein) is forced to stay in town over the summer to help with the rebuilding of a restaurant after he was party to its accidental destruction. This brings him in contact with a girl with a secret (Leelee Sobieski), who finds herself torn between her new interest and a lifelong friend (Josh Hartnett).

The perpetual teen film takes on a new direction with far more sobering, sometimes sweet, but over-sentimental tale of young love. Borrowing from staple fare such as the 1970s weepies Love Story and Sunshine, Here on Earth, the title of which stems partly from the poetry of Robert Frost, has some rather nice moments, but is ultimately simplistic and trite, to appeal to a cynical audience. Teenage girls, however, a largely untapped market, may warm to this tale of love, life and death, and the participation of an attractive trip of actors. The movie suffers from Michael Seitzman's wishy-washy script, one that is too obvious for its own good, and director Mark Piznarki, in his feature debut, milks the material for all its worth. Plus points are some beautiful cinematography (on location in Minnesota) and a strong soundtrack. Performances are varied. Chris Klein, resembling a young Keanu, shows as much dramatic range. Effective in less demanding roles (American Pie and Election), Klein is clearly uncomfortable as a straight dramatic actor. His stronger co-stars overshadow him, beginning with Sobieski, who photographs beautifully, and conveys the right qualities for the fragile and poetic character she beautifully plays. Hartnett is a rare find, and will be seen later in Virgin Suicides to better advantage, though here he gives a rather nice and intelligent performance in a simple character.

There are some lovely elements in Here on Earth, and for its target audience, it's a welcome change from male-dominated teen dramas that flood the market. Male audiences will be turned off by the film's excessive sentimentality and consistent references to Frost. This is a well-intentioned film that could have been more effective as a solid drama, had it not been for its simplistic approach to the material, and the wooden performance of its lead actor.
