2012: Ice Age (2011 Video)
1/10
So Bad it's....Bad
11 December 2011
Once in a while you see a movie that's so bad, it's actually good, this was not one of those movies. The only word I can sum up the experience of watching "2012 Ice Age" is torture.

A jumbled and convoluted script topped off with some of the worst acting I've ever seen, provided by a lack of synergy in this miscast mêlée. The story was a bargain basement knock off of "Day After Tomorrow", with a twist of "2012" tossed in for good measure. The homage paid to Roland Emmerich was completely lost in this colossal disaster of a disaster movie.

Thankfully, this was a download movie on Netflix so nothing lost.

I don't know why or how this movie made it to release, but I'm sure this will be a career killer.

Not Much I can Say that Hasn't been Said....
13 November 2005
In all the other post about this incredible classic comedy, but after reading everyone's favorite parts, I can't believe that NO ONE mentioned Anne Marie Johnsons part as the disassembling slut.

Along with the broken pimped-out shoes, Here are my favorite scenes:

The Pimp of the Year award.

One rib. ("I sure am hungry").

NOoooooo!!Cramps!!.

The demonic woman starting her period.

The Stairs or the window.

OH Damn, let's just say this is one of my all time favorite comedies. Keenan Wayans freshman venture into directing was among his best.

Cliché and Porno

Warning: Spoilers
When my neighbor asked me to come over to see a movie last week, he said "This is a film you're not likely to see made twice". Thank God, because this film was far from anything I would want to see.

First, I'm no prude and have no problem with nudity in films, though I prefer it not to be gratuitis. This film wasn't even about nudity it was pornographic, (I'd even venture to say pedophilic) on so many levels.

**SPOILERS** The story itself was nonsensical and convuluted, with unbelievable characters in completely bogus situations. **SPOILERS** the young man who's having regular sex with a mother and daughter (the mother I might add who looks more like a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader than a mom), the father who waits until his son is 17 years old to attempt to molest him? How about the father who walks in on his daughter and boyfriend (teens into bondage..oh yeah that's believable) beats this guy, then performs some bizarre marriage between himself and his daughter?? I'm not even going to touch the "all day" threesome.

OK nudity is one thing, but was it absolutely necessary to constantly close up on these guys erections? or the "fingering" scene with the girl and the scene of scenes... why was it necessary to not only show the entire masturbation scene, but also the kid ejaculating? I actually got a bit sick in the stomach, not at what happened but that a grown man would put this on film and attempt to show this to a wide audience.

For all the chatter about the "artsiness" of this film, it wasn't art it was medium level porn with actors/actresses that some looked to be not even of legal age. This was a film about voyuerism plain and simple.

My neighbor was right, this was definitely a movie that comes around only once, and I hope never again.

Showgirls (1995)
Best unintentional comedy since "Mommy Dearest".
25 June 2001
I laughed at, not with this crapper of a movie.

First of all, the character of Nomi, comes off as a naive and inexperienced girl from ...get this....New York City!! That was to me the most laughable part of the plot. Elizabeth Berkeley's performance actual lent credibility to the years she spent on "Saved by the Bell". It's no surprise that we don't hear or see much from her anymore.

This movie was barely watchable, and most of the sex and nudity scenes were downright unclimatic, the pool sex scene, I won't even dignify that with a comment. The sickest part of the movie was the gratuitous, and graphic rape scene.

The only thing that stood out in this movie, was the performance of Gina Gershon, who I think has to be THE sexiest woman in Hollywood, and one the all round best actresses.

I can't imagine anyone who is not lurking in the back of a theater in a raincoat, enjoying this movie. But then again, there is no accounting for taste.

Fame (1980)
One of my all time favorites
9 June 2001
When this movie came out, I was about 17 years old, I remember the chill that ran up and down my spine, following this story. At the time I was a teenager in Los Angeles, a city definetly not short on energy..but no New York.

This movie so inspired me, that after graduation from High School in 1980, I moved to New York to study Theater, and still make home here today.

And that to me is the real catch of this movie, it was a movie that offered some inspiration, it was one of the most real movies, I've ever seen that dealt honestly with that awkward period, being a teenager, and especially a gifted teenager.

One thing I noticed a lot of commentors mentioned about Fame: That too many stories were left open, well think about it, how many of your stories were closed when you left high school?...remember High School was ONLY the beginning.

I rate this movie a 10 out of 10...and my only wish is, that we heard more from this incredibly talented cast..especially Irene Cara.

Still a great movie

OK, true, it's dated, and shows its age, and this movie is far from a classic. What the hell?, see it anyway!!. This movie took place at a long gone disco in Los Angeles (Osco's), a favorite hangout of mine back when I lived in L.A. Even though the story is a bit far-fetched, its the DANCING, and MUSIC that brings this movie alive.

This is a fun movie, about a fun almost hedonistic period (remember, this was pre AIDS), when pretty much life was about just having a good time.

The one thing I remember most about the disco period is this: There seemed to be very few lines that divided, the rich, poor, black, white, latin..you name it... we all went to the same clubs, and listened to the same music. This is something you'll see represented in this movie, this cast was about a group of people that in todays society, would hardly be seen on the same street.

The group I'd recommend seeing this film now? young people around 15 to 25, maybe give them a little more focus as to why their parents are so weird!!!

Just Plain Entertaining

This show is one of the most mindlessly entertaining shows on TV.

It's not meant to be taken seriously, nor does it try to be. It does have one of the easiest on the eyes cast, and they seem to be actually having fun doing this show.

I watch little to no TV most of the time, but I enjoy this show.
