Madonna: Drowned World Tour 2001 (2001)
Another great show from Madonna!
Madonna has given yet another fantastic tour. The Drowned World Tour of 2001 was definitely the hottest ticket of the year. Every show sold out in record breaking time. This HBO taping is great. Watching this woman give one amazing show stopper after another is proof of what a talented and brilliant entertainer and performer she is. In the tradition of The Virgin Tour, Who's That Girl Tour, Blonde Ambition Tour, and The Girlie Show Tour, Madonna delivers the goods and once again captures the world's attention. Forever the biggest star on Earth - It's all about you Madonna.
Scream (1996)
A top scary film!
Scream is a fantastic film. This sleeper was very successful and went on to spawn two sequels that grossed even more money at the box office. It not only skyrocketed the careers of screenwriter Kevin Williamson and its star Neve Campbell but this movie also did wonders for director Wes Craven and Drew Barrymore. Barrymore has a Janet Leigh/Psycho-like part in the film but you'll have to check it out for yourself to see what I mean. It also features cameos from Craven and Linda Blair. And you can't miss Henry Winkler as the principal. It's a movie that revitalized a brand of scary movies that had been dead since the 80s and it started a whole revolution of teen films for the 90s and beyond, not just scary ones. If not for Scream we might not have movies like American Pie or that whole new group of popular teen actors. Bottom Line: Thank God for 1996's SCREAM and the unforgettable impact that followed.
Madonna: Truth or Dare (1991)
Bask in the greatness that is MADONNA
Whether you love her or hate her, this is a very enjoyable film. T or D takes you for a look at Madonna's life which may give you more surprises then you had expected. In it she comes off more insecure, compassionate, kinder, interesting, and less sexual than generally thought. Okay, she's still pretty sexual in it, but there is much more to it than that. This film is quite enthralling and includes several full length color performances from the Blonde Ambition tour ( the tour is the basis of this documentary). The rest of it is in black and white: yet, still grabs you like few films do. Cheers to Madonna and Company for a compelling and fun film for all to enjoy - except for the part where she flashes the camera. But, hey, it's Madonna. Who minds seeing that?
