A movie for "tweens" with pedophilia and pro-bullying philosophy?! Yep, that is right.
26 October 2017
This movie achieves the improbable feat of making a concoction of bland and unfunny jokes with scenes that condone pedophilia (a male adult suggests that two 13 and 14 year old boys masturbate him) and bullying (the 'teacher' - played by Gentili himself - bullies his 'apprentices' and pokes fun at them on screen for trying to defend themselves, saying that it is sissy to call bullying 'bullying').

A movie made for kids, "tweens" and teens that goes against all the progresses made by educators and the society as a whole to fight bullying and pedophilia.

A shameful result, it is better to forget this one was made altogether.

Elite Squad (2007)

Totally Overrated....it also promotes violence in the already ultra-violent slums in Rio
28 November 2007
This movie does not fulfill one's expectations...It has not nearly the same verve and pulse and artistic assets of "Cidade de Deus". It presumes that the violence in Rio has to be crushed with yet more violence. And the spectator all around Brazil bought this erroneous idea. This is a bad quality copy of a great book, called 'Elite da Tropa'. What the movie "accidentally" forget to mention is the fact that, nowadays, the individual on which Nascimento's character was based on is facing charges in Rio de Janeiro's Corregedoria da Polícia, the institution that deals with policemen that have broken the law. The allegations against him are not little: he have presumably facilitated and/or lend the 'caveirão' (bulletproof terrestrial vehicle, much like an armored cargo van) to drug dealers. The movie would be harmless, given the fact that is a mediocre movie; in terms of cinema, i'd give it a 5. Would be harmless, though. Because it has caused a huge hoopla amongst middle-class viewers in Brazil, that identify themselves with Nascimento, wishing they could, too, kill some 'favela' people.

This movie is full of prejudice and bad, wrongful ideas

One thought, four words: DON'T GO SEE IT. A total waste of money and time.

Judgement Day (1988)

A great (yet not so frightening) devil story!
20 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Wow, i mean, this is a great, classic-type Satan story; of course, the acting is bad (except for Mr. Romero and Mr. Richman's); the boys playing hide-n-seek are some of the worse actors; but this, in the end, doesn't matter: this movie has, ultimately, a good plot, and some of the scenes are pretty cool; it IS a B-type-of-movie, but so what? It's fun to watch and a soft-horror, sorta speaking. Actually, nowadays is getting kinda common making movies of American tourists that fall into some kind of trap, on their way out looking for girls and easy sex on foreign lands. Hostel and Turistas explore that theme, although the latter is almost a BOMB and Hostel is a great movie. This one is very naive compared to both of 'em, but it has a good story. The original cover for the VHS is very very cool though. The thing is, this movie DOES show the Devil. While some good movies, very good, as Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist, The Omen and Angel Heart never show the Prince of Darkness per Se, with Horns and all. By The way, the devil's portrayed in this film by Richman, and not Romero as the other user has said. I'll give it 3 stars out of 5.

Interstate 60 (2002)

One of the best movies ever
17 June 2003
What a great movie! Really...It's been a while since the last time I watched a movie that gave me that "What will happen next!?" feeling. But Interstate 60 sure delivers that. Loaded with great actors, the movie is the directorial debut for writer Bob Gale ( "Back to The Future" trilogy, "1941", among others). The plot is just awesome, and i can tell you also, that the movie helped me in lots of ways. Sure is one of my favies now! It can be kind hard to find it on VHS or DVD though.

Really impressive, a mind-changing masterpiece
20 November 2002
This movie is by far, the most touching movie i've ever seen. I think it impressed me just the same as "Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence", though "Before the Rain" is a much more beautiful movie. It's a raw depicture of the Balkans conflict, but also a beautiful one. One with loads of violence but growing from this violence, there's love and compassion. The most touching movie i've ever seen.

Brivido giallo: A cena con il vampiro (1989)

A (new) classic vampire movie with an 80s twist!
17 November 2002
The great master of horror movies from Europe, Lamberto Bava, really gets it going with this true-to-the-tone vampire NEW classic. The movie delivers it in great style with one of the most sexy vamps of all times, played by the beautiful Isabel Russinova, and classic vampire movies clichés, like the castle(a beautiful moorish/mediterranean one), the hunchback-like butler, the Christopher Lee alike main vampire. It sure ain't a movie that gets you scared, but if you're looking for fun and a Castlevania-like plot, this is the movie for you !
