A sequel that lives up to the original!
2 January 2001
Addams Family Values is finally a sequel that lives up to the original. I thought this film was just as good as the first film if not better. Yet again Raul Julia and Christina Ricci turn in great performances as Gomez and Wednesday Addams, respectively, and Joan Cusack gives a great performance also as the homicidal Debbie Jillinsky who marries men for their money and then kills them, but after marrying Fester she just can't seem to get rid of him. The whole part of the script that dealt with Wednesday and Pugsley at summer camp was hilarious. And I thought Mercedes McNab as Amanda was hilarious and good in her role. The only thing I found sort of annoying about this movie was that it centered on Uncle Fester again. But, overall this is a great sarcastic comedy that lives up to it's predecessor.

A great sarcastic comedy!
2 January 2001
The Addams Family is one of the best sarcastic comedies I have ever seen. It's a really good film and has one of the best ensemble casts ever. Bravo to the casting director for casting such great talents as Raul Julia (Gomez), Angelica Huston (Morticia) and Christina Ricca (Wednesday)! The set was also amazing, like the Addams family mansion. It does leave a lasting impression for the quotes that came from this film (see the memorable quotes section and you'll see what I mean). The Addams Family did spawn a sequel, called Addams Family Values, that didn't do as well at the box office, but in my humble opinion it was just as good of a film as the first if not better.

An amazing film with amazing actors and characters!
1 January 2001
My friends sometimes mock me or what have you for liking this film because they say it's a chick flick but, like the person beneath me, it's far from it. The only thing chick about it is in the title. But anyway Girl, Interrupted was an amazing film and I really enjoyed it. Angelina Jolie (Lisa) was incredible in this movie, like most people said, and was hilarious in all the right spots and Brittany Murphy (Daisy) was just as good and funny. Winona Ryder, though not really funny in the movie, was just as good. My two favorite scenes are the ones with the three of them. In Daisy's room at the hospital while trading pills and talking about her chickens and crashing at Daisy's apartment talking about her incest with her father, though disturbing, I couldn't help but laugh about the way Angelina Jolie was talking about it and her chickens again. Though it's only "Hollywood Glamour" I couldn't help but feel like I wanted to be in a mental institution. It really made you want to be in one.

A wonderfully, original, hilarious film.
1 January 2001
I didn't get to see this movie in theaters but I did rent it and while I rented it I must have watched it about five times or once a day while I had it. I thought it was pretty original and it was hilarious in some scenes like my favorite scene in which Angela (Mena Suvari who is my favorite in this movie) and Jane (Thora Birch) are with two other ditzy teenagers as Angela tells them of her little escapade with a photographer from Elle Magazine. Angela calls the one a certain "C-word" which you never hear in a movie (because it's degrading to women) but admit it, it was still hilarious the way she said it. If you watch this film you can get some of the best film quotes in history especially from Kevin Spacey's character Lester. I'm glad this film won the best picture Oscar instead of a, say, period piece or some over-dramatic film as usual.

X-Men (2000)
10/10
Definitely lives up to the comics!
1 January 2001
X-Men is a great Sci-fi Action film! I am a fan of the comics and I did watch the incredible X-Men cartoon series from 1992-1998. Bryan Singer did a great job at staying true to the comic as best he could, like the fact that he kept in the bitterness between Scott "Cyclops" Summers and Logan "Wolverine" over Jean Grey. There were a few things I didn't like, like how Rogue was a teenager with just the ability to absorb others memories and powers, instead of the voluptuous women with also super strength, invulnerability, and the ability to fly, which I hope they solve in a sequel because Rogue is my favorite super hero out of them all besides just X-Men. I also think they could have chosen a better set of villains besides like Toad. But that's really minor and I don't care to much. Nonetheless I thought the casting was incredible, Patrick Stewart is the spitting image of Professor X, so was Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Halle Berry as Storm, basically everybody was. Besides the minor things I didn't like, overall It was an incredible film.

Saved by the Bell (1989–1992)
Good show even if it was cheesy
1 January 2001
I hafta say that yes I did watch this show and I really liked it and even though I'm 17 now you can still catch me watching reruns when they're on. I didn't really like the very beginning to much, and I definitely hated the college years and the new class. and all the wannabe shows like USA high and all ugh! My favorite is when we had Kelly, Jessie, Lisa, A.C., Zack and Screech as the six main characters. Watching the show then I never thought it was cheesy but watching it now they all seem so cheesy, it's just the changing of the times I suppose and I can't believe the guy who played screech (whatever his name is) was on the show for it's entire run...and I don't even know if they still are making new episodes. (oh well!) This show also had one of the catchiest theme songs to date.

Family Matters (1989–1998)
Enjoyable in the beginning but got old quick!
1 January 2001
Like the subject said, I thought the first 5 or so seasons were real good and I really never watched the old seasons even on reruns on TBS and I watched those but only the first seasons. I never noticed that the character Rachel left the show perhaps because she left after the 5th season and I never watched the last 5 seasons like I said. And it was noticeable that Judy left and they never explained that disappearance. I don't blame Jo Marie Payton, Rosetta LeNoire, Jaimee Foxworth and Telma Hopkins for leaving before the show ended. It got really bad and they centered the show on Steve about the second half of the shows run which was *ugh* I would watch Full House and Roseanne any day over this show. But overall I liked the show but I can't believe it was on for *10* seasons.

The Wonder Years (1988–1993)
One of the few good 30 min. shows of it's time
1 January 2001
As the subject said it is one of the few good 30 minute sitcom/dramas of the late 80's early 90's and it wasn't all sappy and it didn't have corny jokes or what have you. I used to watch this show when it first came out when I was about 6 and I still watch it when I can on Nick at Night. Like someone else said before I actually did think it was shot in the 60's also...just in reruns in the 80's but it wasn't. The final episode was very sad, Kevin and Winnie didn't end up together (kind of an of course) but at least it actually said what happened to the characters after the series ended. Many shows left you hanging to wonder what happened to your favorite characters.

Married... with Children (1987–1997)
One of the funniest shows ever
1 January 2001
I used to always watch this show and I thought all the characters were hilarious. My favorite character disputes are the ones between Al and Marcy. Those are hilarious. Peggy, Kelly and Bud were also hilarious and one of my favorite episodes was the one where Kelly and Bud are trying to get tickets to a rock concert and keep losing their place and Al is tricked into having sex with Peg through a fake radio contest. A classic episode. It also was the show that got me into loving money because of the opening credits (Al giving everybody in the family an "allowance" including the dog) I wish I could catch them on reruns I know there is a station that plays them but where I live they just don't have that channel or something. :( But I'm glad it was on as long as it was (10 great seasons)

Perfect Strangers (1986–1993)
Another great sitcom from the late 80's early 90's
1 January 2001
I used to watch this show when it was on. But who am I kidding, I used to watch all the sitcoms from the 80's and early 90's. Bronsan Pinchot was hilarious as Balki and Mark Linn Baker was a great costar. They had great chemistry and I have to say that all of Balki's one-liners were hilarious especially "Well, of course not don't be ridiculous." And I seriously think one of the networks like Nick at Night or TBS needs to pick it up for syndication, because I haven't seen a single episode in years.

Who's the Boss? (1984–1992)
A classic family sitcom
1 January 2001
Who's the Boss? is no exception to the classic family sitcoms of the 80's and early 90's. It was a really great show and it was definitely Alyssa Milano's best acting job to date. Just like everyone else said I was also too young to realize the chemistry between Tony Danza and Judith Light but now that I watch reruns on Fox Family I understand it more. Mona was just a hilarious character to the show and I'm glad she was on it. It was definitely an underrated show. It lasted for a healthy 8 or 9 seasons but isn't quite as popular as the other sitcoms of it's time which is truly sad.

Roseanne (1988–2018)
The best television show ever.
31 December 2000
Like the subject says, this is definitely the best show ever, it was realistic and not as sappy and solving the problem in 30 minutes time like the other sitcoms of it's time. This is also the funniest show ever. Literally every episode made me laugh. This is a true comedy. Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert are the funniest cast members, one of my favorite scenes in the shows history is when Jackie has to call Auntie Barbara and tell her that their dad has died and she's deaf and all and has to start screaming, I was rollin'!! Also the scene where Darlene and Jackie are hinting to Roseanne that DJ is in the bathroom like an hour at a time meaning he's either really good at "it" or really bad at "it." I have recorded all 9 seasons and it took up 13 tapes. It was worth it and I still watch the reruns on TBS at 6 p.m. and I'll keep watching them as long as TBS keeps playing them. ROSEANNE 4-ever

The Haunting (1999)
7/10
Not scary, but good
12 November 2000
What made me want to see The Haunting was it's awesome trailor and basically what was in the trailor were the only real exciting parts in the movie. The special effects were great and I loved the house it was a beautiful house. I think that they shouldn't have used cartoon type ghosts in it. I didn't like that to much and I also think the director shouldn't have been afraid of getting an R-rating, if he decided to go for it and not care about the MPAA. It might have been a real good movie and scary at that matter. The ending was quite a disappointment though I was intrigued by the whole Hugh Crane story. That was creepy.. My verdict - 6/10
