Downfall (2010)
People LISTEN to the host - it is REPLICAS that fall over, not real prizes.
Downfall has contestants answering trivia questions to try and save their prizes, their loved ones and themselves from going over the side of a building and crashing down below. The people don't get hurt (they basically bungy jump) and the hosts clearly states over and over that these items are REPLICAS. They are not sending a real expensive TV over the side of a building.
Overall - Interesting show, interesting concept, but I think most of the categories are things I know nothing about. Usually when I watch a trivia show I like to at least have some idea about the answers b/c I'm at home trying to answer too.
The ultimate prize is a million dollars but because some of the categories are so hard I mostly have seen people leave with less than that, or nothing at all. Just like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, contestants can stop at different times and take home a smaller prize - or continue to risk it for a higher prize.
Transformers (2007)
Very good... even if you are clueless about transformers
I never watched the transformers originally. My brother had some toys and that is about my only experience with these. The movie looked good though, so I went to see it yesterday. It was great! and it was the first time in awhile the audience actually clapped.
Shia and the rest of the cast were all very good in their roles and well placed. The graphics were awesome and really made you want to keep your eyes open so you wouldn't miss a thing. The length was perfect, not too long, not too short. There was plenty going on to keep my interest through the whole thing.
So whether you are already a Transformers fan or not, you should check out this movie soon as you can :)
Dreamcatcher (2003)
A great adaptation of a great book by a great author.
This movie is based on the Stephen King book (which I have) called Dreamweaver. The book will take you at least a month, the movie will take you a couple hours :) Whatever you prefer.
You can read the site to see what it's about, I wouldn't want to ruin it for you.
But here's why I liked it. My recipe for a good movie: -Be original -Make it Psychologically scary as well as just plain horror movie scary -Add in a few laughs -Have a plot that's complicated and mentally challenging -Include some great friendships between characters -Make the WHOLE story come together in the end :)
This movie followed the recipe and even added some secret ingredients. It is sci-fi / horror / just plain interesting.
