The Gun in Betty Lou's Handbag (1992)
Not nearly as bad as the comments
A bit too violent to be a comedy, but come on folks, it wasn't that bad. The story is that behind every person is someone to know, and that every person needs to risk and live.
OK, granted Beaudeen didn't have to use the knife in such graphic manners, but overall, good dialogue and decent acting.
The House of Yes (1997)
Disturbingly worth watching
First, watch the movie with an open mind and listen to the dialogue. It was like watching a car wreck: You don't want to watch, but you are drawn to the carnage and cannot step away. Parker Posey is fantastic in her "is she crazy or just disturbed" portrayal of Jackie O.
Second, this is one of those movies where you mention it to another movie buff and he/she immediately shudders. Give the movie a chance. You may hate it, but you won't forget it.
Greg the Bunny (2002)
Not funny
This was not funny and certainly not memorable. I felt myself waiting for it to get funny and certainly saddened by the fact that with above average actors, one could not link them up with some superior writing.
Where a good percentage of the actors are puppets, you absolutely must have reasonably decent writing. Here's the premise: Inexperienced director, with cynical puppets, ditzy gal, and a has-been actor attempts to revamp a kid show, but only causes kids to spasm due to light effects. Not even a good try.
The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle (2000)
Incredibly bad
Wow. The only thing remotely funny was when Natasha said "Moose and Squirrel", and after that, I should have walked out.*
The movie effects were adequate. However, the real pleasure of the original Rocky and Bullwinkle show was the fine story presentation and comic timing. This movie failed at both.
If you are going to see this, get the video or the DVD so that you can fast forward. Better yet, pass.
*Why did I stay? My wife and I had dinner reservations and it was either kill time in the theater or in the lobby.
