The whole point of the original Korean version of the show was to build or re-build the brand of current artists, not has-beens, and to show off the vocal prowess of current artists. Don't get me wrong, Gladys Knight was and is amazing, and I am still a fan, but she has already worked hard to establish herself as an all-time great and does not need to showcase her talents anymore. The Korean show focuses on current artists who may not have another opportunity to display their vocal talent, or for those who recently went MIA due to unfortunate circumstances to climb back into the limelight. I am digressing, but my point is, the emphasis was on the vocal talent where contestants sing songs that move audiences, not on the superficial frittering of trying to guess who the singer is. They compete and sing their heats out, and then the voting happens based on vocal talent alone. Then when they are unmasked at the end, we are impressed. Also, why the hell is Jenny McCarthy a judge? I can understand Scherzinger even though she is more of an entertainer than a true singer, but McCarthy doesn't even accept scientific facts as reality.
