Happy Feet (2006)
2/10
Best animated feature? Really?
8 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Happy Feet is an interesting movie. I used to love it when I was younger, but I stopped watching it as I grew older, then I realised it was best animated feature, and it made me start to pick up flaws in this film.

First off, the character design is terrible, the literal only person you can tell apart from everyone else, is Mumble, (which is kinda the point). But other than that, nothing else, I literally couldn't define Mumble's girlfriend to his mother, that's just how bad it is.

Second, it jumps all over the place, first it's about Mumble trying to fit in, and I'm like "ok, this is ok." Then it just goes from human alien crossover alien abduction, to a commentary on the environment.

Now before you say (Oh it's just a kids movie.) No! There are some amazing kids movies, like The Incredibles, or Shrek 2, but Happy Feet is just a movie that has terrible design a terrible plot and just hopes that kids will like it.

Now, if you like this movie, I'm not blaming you! Do what ever you want, but I'm just pitching in on my opinion

(I still can't believe this won best animated feature.)

Boring

I wanna say one thing about this movie that was good, it was a bit amusing

Merlin just had no clue about the world at all, and that's a bit funny

But that is really the only good thing about this movie, the characters seemed mediocre and so much stuff happened for no reason, and the actors, look I know they're young, but then why did they sign them up then?

Honestly I had kind of high hopes for this movie, the trailer was awesome, and was hyped to see it, but I was incredibly disappointed.

I wouldn't say it was bad, but it was mediocre at best
