What kind of tree donated the wood for the actors?
28 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I'm basing this on my observations of one episode I saw last night (9/27/06). I don't think I'll be watching again. The acting was totally wooden, the plot completely predictable, the ending totally unrealistic -- I mean who would believe a 30 million dollar judgment for the death of a recovering drug addict with terminal cancer? The lead actor (Victor Garber) seemed so uncomfortable, almost embarrassed in his role -- perhaps he realized how bad the writing was!! I fully realize that the drama offered this season is pretty poor, but they can surely find better writers. Maybe they are outsourcing the writing to India or China!! I'll bet we won't be seeing this one next season!

Something special happened last night!!
19 September 2006
Something special happened last night -- in the midst of all the canceled Commanders, Howie's Deal detritus, redundant Laws? and Orders? and staged "Survival", Tommie Schlamme and Aaron Sorkin have brought us a gem to be savored as entertaining quality drama, centering around "real" characters in the unreal world of TV production. NBC should take a tip from their Cable brothers, and run this premier episode in several prime time slots this week, so that the maximum number of viewers can get hooked on this show! Those of us who passed up Monday Night Football to watch could view it again to absorb the nuances of this complex drama!! Perhaps shows like this can lead NBC back to the top 3, at least with the intelligent (and affluent) audience this level of quality will attract. I tried to send this message to NBC, but their "feedback" site is an outdated mess that doesn't work!!
