Fun home invasion movie with an undercurrent of humour and some bad acting
28 June 2015
Dunno what people were expecting, but the name Eli Roth should be enough to give you an idea of the content/quality. Simple plot: two girls show up at married father Keanu Reeves' door and seduce him while his family is away. They then come back and force him to play A sadistic 'punishment' game. Not that violent, I think the rating may Be more for the swears

Keanu's acting wasn't always convincing, but he did all right,. The girls were good, laughs were mostly intentional and it managed to be consistently entertaining. Enjoyed the ending a lot.

Just go in expecting some trashy fun and you should be well met

Really weird, bad costuming/production values but somehow really funny!

knowing that this had been made way back before Saif was a respected actor but only just recently released i viewed it with trepedition.

Having not expected much i was surprised to find that i actually liked it. Okay, so saif's hairline recedes in some of the songs (oviously filmed at a later date) and his, Sanjay's, Bipasha's and Kim's looks do keep changing. The songs are not memorable and the plot is just plain weird.

However, Saif gives the kind of cheeky-but-charming performance he is well known for and Sanjay impressed me in a comedy role. Bipasha looks young and beautiful.

It involves two opposite-personality kind of thieves who get jobs at Bips' hotel in order to steal some money. Once there a lot of jokes (and of course, romance) ensue. Personally i find it really picks up when they jet off to Mauritius and find the guy they are trying to take money from is dead. From there on in they need to pretend he is alive and so walk with him, dance with him etc to make it seem so. This basically covers the second half of the movie. You might say that such a joke is in bad taste (and perhaps so) but by the time the dead body is being revived by some local mauritius pop song and boogying its way to where the money is hidden, you won't care. Seriously hilarious.

I fully believe that with a few tweaks to the script, some more money, better songs etc this film could have been a hit!

Excellent thriller!!

I really enjoyed this. I had come to watch it not knowing what to expect. I had heard the part about all the characters being blind but not much else. What i discovered was an excellent bank heist thriller with great turns from Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar (who i normally don't like, in fact i thought he was very good in this).

Even arjun rampal, who is a very dull screen personality, came across well. I always find he is better playing blind guys (see also VAADA) or villains (see Om Shanti Om). Sushmita Sen was great, she is very pretty, i wish the romance between her and arjun could have been developed a little more (or maybe they should do another film together as they make a nice pair)but it probably would have spolied the tone of Aankhen.

Overall it was a film that really draws you in. The plot was good and the ending made me wish for a sequel!
