While Justice Sleeps (1994 TV Movie)
6/10
not bad a t all...
7 May 2006
Although the acting is good (especially from the little girl at the centre of the story) it also leaves a little bit to be desired.

It's one of those films where you're shown the ending right at the beginning, and then it goes back to the beginning to tell the story.

That sort of thing works sometimes but I think I would have liked to have been surprised instead of knowing what was coming.

That said it was very watchable and I did enjoy most of it...only other thing I wasn't too happy about was Cybil Shepherd. She was great in Moonlighting but in this movie she didn't really bring anything to the table. However, give it a go and see what you think. Maybe it's just me....

Sleeping with the Devil (1997 TV Movie)
7/10
Tim good, Shannen BAD!
7 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This movie ain't bad at all, shame the leading female wasn't cast to someone better tho.

I admit to not being a fan of Docherty but her performance really is wooden and irritating at times. She has probably 2 facial expressions throughout the entire film - I'm so glad she was kicked off Charmed!!!

Anyhow, Tim delivers a really good performance and proves just how good an actor he is, to go from doting lover to cold, cruel baddie. He really is convincing in the role.

Great afternoon movie when you've nothing to do but chill. Also has a satisfying ending as well, guaranteed to make you happy.

Impulse (1984)
7/10
This film DOES make sense!
7 May 2006
OK, first of all, ignore the last person' review. They admit to falling asleep through it so it's no wonder they didn't understand what was going on!!! As thriller/horrors go, this film ain't too bad, it is certainly very watchable. Right from the opening scenes you get a general idea exactly what is going to be the cause of all the craziness that follows, and come the end you are proved right with everything being made clear.

I enjoyed this movie, it was quite eerie at times and as old films go it was passable. Great to watch late at night! I give it a generous 7 out of 10.

Harmful Intent (1993 TV Movie)
4/10
Watchable 'Fugitive' style film
21 April 2006
Harmful Intent isn't one of the best films ever made but it is watchable, especially if you are a Tim Matheson fan. Also the Bounty Hunter character is a hoot to watch - he is probably the best redeeming feature of the film in fact. I thought this film was very much like Harrison Ford's The Fugitive, only much MUCH lower budget. Tim Matheson is made to wear a seriously dodgy wig at the beginning and a tash so that later he can 'disguise' himself by shaving the tash and cutting/dying his hair, which is actually Tim's real appearance if you know what I mean. I liked it, so if it comes on TV sometime I'd recommend you to watch it and see for yourself.

Dying to Love You (1993 TV Movie)
5/10
Frustrating film that could have been better
21 April 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I know this film is based on a true story but the ending totally sucks. Roger Paulson (Matheson) is drawn in hook line and sinker by his new girlfriend's lies and fake tears while she takes him for everything he has, and all you want him to do is wake up and kick her to the curb.

When he finally realises that she's just using him you clap and cheer, but don't hold your breath waiting for "...and he lived happily ever after."

I'm a Tim fan so I would recommend anyone to watch this film as it's not too bad, but I have to say that the ending did leave me feeling frustrated to say the least.

Buried Alive (1990 TV Movie)
10/10
Great and timeless movie!!!
21 April 2006
This really is one of my favourite films and is definitely the best Tim Matheson film I have seen so far. If you haven't seen it then I can't recommend it enough! The sequel to this film isn't as good but worth watching if you enjoyed the first. Scenes where Tim Matheson's character is seen to move when inside a zipped up body bag in the morgue, and when he is on the undertaker's embalming table are chilling, and when he eventually wakes up after he's been buried and subsequently digs his way out, the film totally delivers on its promise to thrill. The music when he's stumbling through the cemetery is just perfect and will have you rooting for him as he plots his revenge on his uncaring wife. MUST SEE! :-)
