Classic ridiculous Godzilla plot with modern effects!
2 April 2021
Godzilla vs. Kong does exactly what legendary's franchise has been needing to do since it's 2014 debut, it gives center stage to its two Kaiju leads, providing some of the most exciting on screen monster battles since Pacific Rim! However, the most divisive part of this film, without a doubt, is the film's plot. This forth entry in the series makes a bold move by providing a plot that is as classic Toho as you can get, where every decision and situation becomes more and more ridiculous, only serving as a means for the next fight to occur. With that said, I still highly recommend this film for anyone just looking to have a good time, the Godzilla & Kong have never been better!

Feels like a Roger Corman Movie
18 March 2021
If you're familiar with Death Race (2008) and it's two prequels you'll probably agree that the last two movies (DR2 & DR Inferno) feel like much cheaper additions to the series that can't be compared to their '08 counterpart. This Entry in the series, however, embraces its reduced budget and follows much closer in the footsteps of the original film(s) directed by the master of low budget action films, Roger Corman! With this entry in the series the Monster might feel more like a go kart than a tank and the characters are all over the top but it has a strange charm to it that fans of Corman's wacky, unapologetic style might appreciate. One of the main driving forces behind Beyond Anarchy's charm is that the series "Degeneracy" is in full tilt with more violence, language, and especially nudity than you could imagine from something being sold on retail shelves. If you want a film that calls back to the lawless era of 70's action B-movies with an awesome soundtrack then I'd give this one a go!

Coming from someone who loves the original series and knows little about the new one
8 January 2021
When starting this movie I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, being a huge fan of the original series and not really knowing anything about the new one, I was definitely hesitant at first. Starting off with the new versions of the characters definitely gave me some tonal whiplash from what I was used to from the more grounded (Five Head) characters but I was able to enjoy it as a sort of parody of the originals. Needless to say I was incredibly excited to see the classic characters back for a new adventure and at first it was a little bizarre seeing the slight altered look that almost two decades of animation technology seems to create but I was able to settle into it fairly easily. Pretty quickly however any diehard fan of the original will notice that these aren't 100% the original Titans... All of them, especially Robin, are slightly more goofy and a little more like their smaller counterparts which is a little disappointing but I can't say I didn't expect that going in. But if you're an open minded fan of the original series and you can handle a slightly off version of the classic characters there's a lot of fun and laughs to be had here!

Cool, stylish, but incredibly graphic
9 September 2019
In concept, this movie is pretty awesome, and at first the movie seems to have the style to match. However, once the movie really starts going it becomes apparent that each trap and related death scenes are designed to be as cringe inducing as possible. Which is all well and good, but it makes it difficult to re-watch. If you found Saw II even slightly disturbing, then this movie is definitely not for you. One particular aspect of the movie that is interesting is the insect theme but, other than a brief moment with a jar of cockroaches, it never really inspires any scenes in the movie. (This is also never really touched on in the sequel either)

Not a good movie, but a coherent one...
26 August 2019
This movie, as you can probably tell by the other reviews, is not good by any means.. but for a movie with no budget that I can find, it has better production value than I expected... some positives of this movie include: -The music, a pretty basic but fun synth wave style that compliments the tone. -the movie's hilariously obvious attempts to censor the language and death scenes (i'm Pretty sure they used jam for the blood) -and my personal favorite, the POV shots where all you can see is this tiny little pointy stick moving "menacingly" through the frame. All in all the movie was pretty bad, but if you stick it out while watching it 1/2 asleep at 2 a.m. with nothing else to do, you may have something to laugh about in the morning..

So bad it's amazing!
7 June 2019
My buddy showed me this movie a few years ago and I couldn't believe how bad this movie was... but after watching it a few more times it's really started to grow on me. Between the over the top 2000's action, the over acting, and the random implementation of heavy metal music I can definitely say that this movie has cruised it's way into becoming a classic in my collection. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for something stupid to laugh at, especially if you're watching with friends!
